Chapter 3, The Sewer

Markus crawling through the tunnel that the rats had emerged from 'God, this place smells so bad, I'm gonna puke!' He keeps crawling till he reaches a open area, which is the entrance to a room with a stench of death, green slug and dirt water on the walls and floor. 'What is this place?' Markus notices a tag above a entrance in front of him.

'Cool, the sewers how fun, and I get to meet royalty too, what a fun day' Markus says in a sarcastic tone while stepping in the entrance room and hurling a bit in his mouth from the stench 'Okay, lets check my stat window and see what I got from the fight.'

'So it seems I get 3 skill points every time I level up, and the 4 basic skills go up 1 every level as well. I don't know when I get a spell point and the Rat Killer title is new but what's that?' Markus touches the title card.

'Also I have the dagger that I got from the reward box, so at least I have a weapon. With the amount of skill points I've saved up I should spend them. Let's see, strength, is how much damage I can do, agility is my movement speed, endurance is damage reduction and how many hits I can take, intelligence is probability my perception or how fast I can learn things, luck is luck and I don't know what the mysterious skill is so I'm not gonna touch it for now.' Markus after thinking what will be useful uses all of his skill points.

'That should be good enough to start a F- type dungeon' He head to the dungeon entrance. After walking in, the entrance seems to disappear and turn into a solid wall.

[You have entered the Rat King's home, You may only leave after defeating the Rat King or by finding an escape rune]

'If I remember escape runes have the lowest drop rate in the game, so I'm gonna have to kill the boss if I wanna to get out.' Markus starts to follow the pipes and finds an entrance to the first floor. 'I don't know if this follows the rules of the game before with dungeons, but if it does than this F- rank dungeon should be 3 floors and 1 boss room.' After walking around he runs into a pack of rats. 'I don't want to waste my mp here so I'll use the dagger for now, plus the <Rat killer> boost, I should be okay.' More confident than before he heads towards the group of rats. Now with his improved stats, he is able to dodge more of the attacks and gets more hits. 'This dagger does a good amount of damage and after killing a few of them it seems like hitting the under part of their neck does more damage.' Markus still dancing around with the rats is kill rest more easily with his new knowledge. 'Nice it seems that's all for this floor. Stats'

After going through a few of the corpses he sees a dim light coming from 4 of the rats and goes towards them them up.

The objects suddenly disappear. 'whoa, I hope those were useful but why did they disappear? Oh, wait. Inventory' he says and a screen appears in front of him with boxes with two slots having the rat drops in them. 'Cool, so I do have an inventory, I didn't know if I had one or not but that's good to know' He notices above the Inventory is a tab labeled <Store> 'So I guess the game store is here too, that will be useful later on. Store'

'That's crap' he kicks a pebble, 'I'll just have to wait till I have a high enough level to access it then. Anyways lets continue down the floors to meets the boss' Markus processes down the floors killing the rats one by one obtaining more rat hide, teeth, tails, and claws. After kill the last rat on the 3 floor, he heads down to what he thinks should be the boss room.

'That's cool that I can gain new skills doing small things like that.' Markus say as he is in front of a huge doorway with a tag above.

Markus now knowing that his theory about the dungeons were right, looks at his stats and prepares for the boss fight.
