"How did we get here?" Alessandra questioned Rafael who sat behind her. "I will try to stop Edgar before he does something to worry you."
Rafael sat with folded arms, watching Annalise and Edgar stand beside each other. Like Alessandra, he didn't know how they reached this point for him to be here and Annalise to be over there. He thought about Alessandra's words and wanted to offer the same advice.
"She is no different from Edgar. I need to stop her before she does something to worry you," Rafael replied.
"Oh. So we've both picked people who need to be kept an eye on," Alessandra realised, liking that they had something in common. "We are the calm ones in our relationships. You've long prepared for this since you have been Edgar's friend."
Rafael looked away from Annalise to the duchess. She was so quiet that he couldn't believe how well she put up with Edgar's antics. "Does Edgar not worry you? You seem to have gotten used to him quite fast."
