"Are you sure he is not dead?" Rafael asked, watching Travis who was not moving. It was hard to tell from where he sat if the man was still breathing.
River gazed down at Travis. By now, Travis had gotten used to lying on the floor. "He is still alive. Perhaps sleeping. I will wake him soon."
"When will you finally end him?" Rafael questioned.
It was going more than a week later and he didn't want his father spending so much time here with Travis. He had done enough to take out his anger. Now it was time to kill Travis and move on.
"Soon before they come looking for him," River replied.
It was early in the morning that a letter was sent to the mansion Travis was renting and then sent to River by a knight left there. The Normans were coming to look for their heir since Travis had not sent them a letter.
