"Prince Tobias-"
"Don't look so nervous. Hazel here thought she could beat me to getting out of the maze first and ended up losing. It won't happen again. Will it?" Tobias questioned, looking down at Hazel.
They were out of the maze and the guards stood before them so he had to be quick with an excuse.
"It won't. I underestimated how much time the prince had spent in the maze. I was hoping to run into a few guards to help me out, but it seemed that you were also lost," Hazel said, going along with the lie.
The guards inspected Hazel and Tobias's appearance to find any part of their clothing out of place. They were given strict orders to keep a watchful eye on the pair.
Nothing appeared to be out of place so the guards excused themselves and went back to their earlier positions. If the prince and Hazel were going to attempt to run through the maze again, they would be ready.
