The King's System

A King. A cultivator. A god. Three lives, one man. Watch as his glorious 4th life leads him to the apex! ------------------------------- "What are you doing?!" "Huh? I'm sleeping." "But this is your introduction!" "And what makes you think I care about something like that?" ------------------------------- Ahem. Watch as his gloriously "lazy" 4th life leads him to the top! ----------- My entry for Writing Prompt 32-a: System (Male Lead) Chapter length is around 1150 on average. ----------- P.S. the start of the novel is poking fun at generic reincarnation novels where the MC becomes a ruthless killer despite being a normal earthling. The annoying dialogue with the system is included in that. Also, first time writing so expect some less than good writing.

More Gains

There are some things I neglected to mention last time.

First of all, the cross-level kills. It will be a pain to list out all the 30+ Hidden Quests, so I'll just provide a brief summary.

Actually, it'll increase the word count so I may as well.

[Hidden Quest completed!

Quest info: Kill something 70 levels higher than you.

Just kidding. Here's the summary.

While my level is only around 400, my raw attributes allow me to fight against level 600 enemies.

I get the feeling that it won't be enough when we arrive at Candor though.

Anyway, onto Catherine. After that fight, she developed a new type of swordsmanship, called Rose Sword.

For some reason, everything about her now resembles a rose. When she swings her sword, it seems like there's a phantom of a rose behind her.

Also, all puncture wounds that she inflicts are shaped like a rose and impossible to heal. Supposedly, it's because of the nature of the rose with its thorns, but I think it's more of a curse. It even affects trees!

Surprisingly, any slash wounds she makes can be healed. Maybe I need to change Knight's Rose into a rapier.

As for Arin, her Archery evolved into Shooting. The skill is pretty self-explanatory. Anything that she can get her hands on can be considered a projectile. For example, faeces can be used as a chemical grenade, while a cow can be used similarly to a boulder.

With this, grenades are as good as made. If I take some small undead and place Corpse Explosion on them, with Arin's Shooting skill, they will blow up inside the enemy lines.

The only problem with that would be the lack of shrapnel, but some simple bone armor would solve it.

However, there is a major problem. Despite the fact that she can shoot anything she holds, there is no accuracy guarantee. Is he throws a cow, there's obviously no way she'll hit a needle 100% of the time.

Luckily, that usually only applies to oversized objects. The grenades I was talking about earlier are small, and even I can achieve at least 85% accuracy with them.

Now onto my undead. While I was clearing the area where the Drake died, I discovered its lingering spirit. Naturally, it wasn't very happy. It tried attacking me, only to pass through me since it was a spirit.

I refined him using the Underworld skill, after using Body Control to change him into 'flesh'. I had only just realized that this loophole could be exploited. By activating Body Control twice, I can change the entire spirit into 'flesh' while at the same time returning it to spirit.

It's kind of like Schrodinger's cat. Is it spirit, or is it flesh? Technically, it exists in both states at any given time. Therefore, I was able to refine him using Underworld.

After refining, I placed him into a LV100 Refined King's Guard Skeleton and created bone wings for it.

After that, I named it Nathan. A Drake's true nature should be apparent even in a different world.

As the only skeleton capable of flight, I expect Nathan to scout out the areas in front of us at all times.

He also has access to Fire Magic, so he should be able to reproduce his moves from when he was a Drake.

As for his original dragon-like body, I'll probably make it into a ghoul. Ghouls are actually really cool. Instead of getting strong through combat like my Skeletons, they can get stronger simply by eating.

When they eat the flesh of other beasts, they break it down into essential 'nutrients', which are actually the remnant energies or mana left inside. Using this, they enhance their own bodies, which in turn increases their combat capabilities.

Unfortunately, there is no bonus if they eat other Ghouls. I may as well feed them raw corpses rather than other Ghouls.

I wonder what would happen if I named a Ghoul? They might get red and black eyes and gain some random parts sprouting out of their back…

There's no place called Tokyo here though, and an anti-Ghoul regulation department does not exist.

Although technically, the Dark Guild and the Church could represent them…

I've recently been really getting into Tokyo Ghoul. Ghouls might take centre stage at any time!

Thanks for reading!
