"Well then, I must refrain from sticking my nose where it doesn't belong." The witch replied gently. "Consider yourself lucky tonight, I couldn't bring myself to harm my kind, considering she was a fool for picking up a stray beast and nursing him back to health."

Serenity concealed a smile, a genuine one this time. She couldn't agree more when her kind branded her foolish. She deserved it for assisting a vampire she wasn't even sure wouldn't bite her hand when he recovers.

"I had found him outside the stone house." She began to explain without being asked.

"The lair of the black witches." The witch whispered, her eyes opening in familiarity, indicating she'd seen and even gone to the location before.

"He was bound to a tree trunk and was barely alive, a puddle of blood gathered in his feet, and the sword used to stab him still horribly buried deep in his chest."

"That's horrible…"
