Chapter 7- The Earthen Mage

Just as the Pegasus congratulated them, they heard a scream nearby.

" Hop on" Pegasus said with a worried tone.

" Are you sure?" Kazuki asked. He was not sure if Pegasus really meant what he said, but when he nodded, Kazuki felt like it was sincere so he grabbed Sakura's hand and both of them mounted Pegasus. A few seconds later, Pegasus started flapping his wings and they took off.

It was Sakura and Kazuki's first time riding a Pegasus and it felt like a dream come true for both of them. In this world, only high ranking mages are allowed to fly and none of them are on that level.

" Yahoo!! I'm flying!!" Kazuki shouted to let the whole world known he was in the sky, too ad they were in the middle of a forest and no one could hear him.

" Yes and you can always fly now." Pegasus said with a proud face.

" What do you mean?" Kazuki was dumbstruck. He thought Pegasus was just gonna bring them to where the noise came from.

" The one who wield the legendary sword Order becomes my master and an eternal contract will bound both of us." Pegasus replied with a stiff tone. Kazuki was wondering whether he doesn't want Kazu.ki to be his master of if he just speaks that way

" Really? Nice going Kazuki. Our suffering wasn't in vain." Sakura said while giving him a thumb's up. Well Sakura can be a little selfish sometimes but, she's still a girl so it's just natural.

" Where's that sound coming from?" Sakura wondered. Then scream souded like a girl in trouble which made her worry.

" Master over there." Pegasus alerted. They saw a mage with brown hair below fighting a pack of wolves. She was nearly surrounded so Kazuki jumped from the Pegasus's back to helped her. After defeating all the beasts, they introduced themselves.

" Hi I'm Kazuki and this is Sakura. Oh! And the horse is Pegasus."

" Hi....uhm.....I..I'm Maggie. I'm an Earthen mage." She said in a low voice.

(Note: Mages can be classified into 3 stages. First is the elemental mage which can use a specific type of magic. Examples are the ice mage, fire mage, Earth mage, water mage, etc. The next stage is the high elemental mages which can use higher tier spells of a specific element and lower tier spells on other elements. Examples are the Earthen mage(high Earth), flare mage(high fire), frost mage(high ice), Death mage(high dark), etc. Finally, the supreme mages which are the rarest group of mages. Only 8 supreme mages are known to exist. Supreme mages can use 3-5 elements with up to 5th tier spells each element.)

Judging from the mage's expression she is a shy type. Plus she looks so innocent. The exact type that could make Kazuki's heart skip a beat.

" Hey Maggie."

" Kazuki right? What is it?" Maggie replied with a flushed face.

" I love you! Please be my girlfriend." Kazuki said while bowing down to show he was serious. It was an instant confession that no one expected. As for what happens next, he was sent flying to the sky by Sakura's punch.

" Uhhh....eh....let me think about it." Maggie replied with a reddened face.

" Seriously?! Your thinking about considering to date this loser?" Sakura said while blushing. Pegasus who noticed this wasn't sure if she's just mad or jealous.

" Uhmm....well..he saved me." Maggie said in a shy tone.

Kazuki didn't notice Sakura's face. It seems he's not interested in Sakura or is just dense.

Sakura couldn't contain her anger because Kazuki ignored her so he was sent spinning in the air by her slap followed by a kick from Pegasus.

" Pardon me for kicking master but, please get back to your senses." Pegasus said while bowing down. Sakura thanked him silently.

" Ahem!...I'm sorry I got carried away." Kazuki said to Maggie who was standing there dumbfounded.

Sakura's eyes widened. This was her first time seeing Kazuki apologize wholeheartedly to someone. Of course it made her jealous. So jealous that she kicked Kazuki without any reason.

" Gyaaaaaaah!" Kazuki,s scream could e heard at a five kilometer radius. Good thing no one was in the forest except for magical beasts.

" Idiot." Sakura said in a voice no one could hear.

" Uhmm excuse me but I'm still here." Maggie reminded them. She felt left out so she called out to them.

" Well Kazuki's still unconscious so I'll be talking to you." Sakura said while giving Kazuki a glare.

" O-ok."

" First wh-" As she was aout to say something, Kazuki suddenly interrupted their conversation and suggested something.

" Will you join us in our journey?" He asked her out of the blue.

" Ehhhhhh?!!?!" Maggie, Sakura and Pegasus's eyes widened in surprise.
