The Day We Met Each Other

It was a bright sunny morning and I was going to the roof of our house with my family to enjoy the view of the vast sky which was a radiant blue.

"Jake, lay out the carpet and chairs for us will ya" said mom to me when I arrived on the roof.

Well being the youngest in the family means you have to be everyones gofer and do most of the chores....ah, my sad fate is what I thought as I was setting up the chairs for everyone.

The story will go on from here on out but, I think I forgot something important here. Oh, right I didn't introduce myself yet. Here we go then.

My name is Jake, I'm an average 18 year old guy who just graduated from High School a few weeks back. I have an older brother. I'm currently enjoying my last summer vacation with my family as I will be moving out from home when college starts next month.

I'm happy and sad at the same time as I'll be moving out but, life needs change to do for something new to happen. Also, you won't get a stable job if you don't have a college degree. The fate of us living in this accursed society.

"Mom, I finished setting out the chairs and carpet." I called out to mom informing her that the task is done.

My mom came up with snacks in her hands, my brother and dad with their drinks. We were having a fun time enjoying talking with each other.

When sun was at its peak, everyone was getting ready to go inside as it was pretty hot out there. Everyone went down and I was the only one left on the roof collecting chairs and carpet and cleaning up.

That was when I saw something in the sky. There were some ship like objects flying. I couldn't see them clearly due to bright sun. But, they were quite clear as they came closer while passing through our town.

Those airships were from Skylink Industries. A worldwide company known for its state of the art technological advancements. They had major influence on politics and economy of the world and many revered them as pioneers of Earth's advancement to the new era.

They were building a new advanced city a few miles away from our town and there was a power line which passed through the out town to new city which needed a weekly maintenance and the airship carried the maintenance staff every week and landed them near the towers connecting the power lines. One such tower was near my home and I could see two people landing near it for their job.

The sight of airships always amazed me and I admired people working for Skylink Industries and I also dreamed of being one of them in the future.

As I was lost in the thoughts admiring those people doing their jobs I saw something which almost had me on the edge of my breath.

One of the workers from maintenance staff fell down from the power line maybe due to some defect in the gear and she came crashing to the ground.

The whole incident transpired in front of my eyes before I could even grasp what was even going on.

"Everyone come outside, someone fell from the tower!", I ran down stairs as I was calling out my family telling them what happened and started running towards the tower.

When they came out and saw what has happened they came running behind me towards the tower.

When I reached to the scene I saw that person on the ground and their colleague was also climbing down from tower to that place. The person had helmet on her head. I removed it carefully.

To my surprise the person inside was girl with her golden long hair covering her face, with pale white skin and beautiful pink lips. She was unconscious due to the shock from falling.

My family and the colleague reached us after some time. My brother had already called for ambulance and it was on its way.

We stood there waiting for ambulance and as soon as it came we helped put her in the ambulance. Me and her colleague also went with her and my brother followed back in his car......
