Chapter 17: Cousin.

"Vie? I-is that you?"

Hearing that familiar nickname, Genevieve turned to look at the person who called her childhood nickname. She then saw a handsome young man with a green eyes, who's looking at her with longing.

Seeing her looking at him with those confused eyes, Troye immediately confirmed that this really is his cousin who he adored since she was born.

Troye immediately went to Genevieve to hug her but immediately felt pain when Genevieve took a step back away from him.

"Cousin."

Genevieve coldly said, greeting him. Troye felt his heart broken.

This was his favorite sister, alright. Even though they have different parents, he treats her like his little sister. He adored her since she was young and she always call him 'brother' with her cute yet childish voice.

And now, how heartbreaking it was for him to hear her calling him 'cousin' instead of 'brother'. Her once lively and warm voice, now turn into a cold and emotionless voice.

Troye looked at his father, wanting to know what happened. His father answered with a shrugged, and mouthed, 'later'.

Understanding that his father's going to explain Genevieve's situation later, he then walked towards his previous position beside his friends. Not wanting to look at her anymore, incase he might pulled her into his arms forcefully.

Ezekhiel sighed and then pat Troye on his back, comforting him. He doesn't want to be rude or what but atleast, they kinda share the same predicament.

"Now that Genevieve has come back, we got to prepare Ezekhiel's coronation. But before that, go and check the hunters that Genevieve mentioned and bring them to the dungeon. Also, put that man in our death chamber."

Alpha Howard cuts off their emotional moments and began ordering his wolves to prepare Ezekhiel's coronation. He also didn't forget the hunters that ambushed Genevieve and Francis. He also pointed to his wolves to put Tiago in their death chamber where they usually put extremely dangerous person or wolves.

The wolves he commanded immediately carried out his order. Because of curiosity, Ezekhiel and his friends decided to visit the scene in where Genevieve and Francis got ambushed.

Meanwhile, because Genevieve has a lot of blood splattered on her, she decided to go back to her house. So she first excuse herself to the alpha and his men before going straight into her house. Ezekhiel and Troye watched as she leaves.

Beta Ethan patted his son's back and said, "Come, let's go to the place where they got ambushed and I'll explain it to you while going there."

Troye nodded and began walking with his father's arm on his shoulder. Curious, Ezekhiel, Kurt and Kyle decided to stick with them to listen.

While walking towards the location, Beta Ethan starts to tell them about the story of what happened to Genevieve. To where her parents got attacked by the hunters, to how her parents protected her, to how they tortured her parents in front of her, and lastly, the scene in which Genevieve went to their pack and told them about what happened to her family.

Hearing the story, Ezekhiel and his friends can't help but to feel sorry for Genevieve, especially the young Genevieve.

Knowing the story of his mate, Ezekhiel can't help but to feel his heart tighten when he thought of how frightened his mate was at that time and the trauma that those hunters did to her.

Troye also can't help but to blame his self because he was not there when that happens. No wonder, his pure and innocent sister turns into a cold person when he meets her, it turns out that it was because of what those hunters did to her.

Troye also remembered that whenever he needed help, his aunt and uncle was always there for him. But when it was their time to need help, he was not there. He wished he rebelled to his parents and just stayed with his uncle and aunt instead of going to the academy to train.

"It's not your fault son. Nothing will change even if you're there. It was up to fate that that happens."

Beta Ethan comforted his son as he knew what his son was thinking about. He too, always blamed his self for what happened to his sister. He didn't even managed to protect her while she, who's a woman, always protects him from danger when they're young.

So he swear to himself that he would do anything to protect his niece, just like how Genevieve's parents protect them from hunters.

A few minutes later, they arrived at the location where Genevieve and Francis got ambushed. And what they saw, shocked them.

There they saw a twenty or so hunters that has been tied to a tree and with blood scattered everywhere. The people who went and knew Genevieve immediately calmed down after being shocked for a while and then proceeds to collect their bodies.

Most of the hunters are on verge of death while some are still perfectly fine and breathing.

'It seems like Genevieve didn't treat them seriously given how she didn't kill them.' Beta Ethan thought.

He knew his niece very well ever since she started training in their pack. She wouldn't be feared if she's not cruel. The way she handled every hunter is something even the leader of the hunters, are scared of. Even his sister and brother-in-law are not as cruel as this niece of his.

He remembered the first time they encountered a hunter, and it was the secind time Genevieve went on a mission. His niece instantly made a name for herself on her first mission, so when he went with her on her second mission because he was worried, he knew that his worries were useless.

The hunter that they met at that time was the previous leader of the hunters. Genevieve nearly killed the previous leader, if not for him being a burden. He was caught in their trap and it was his niece who saved him which caused the previous leader to escape. She was only 8 at that time but managed to nearly killed the previous leader.

He didn't knew what happened to the leader, if he died or what. He only knew after a year later that there was a new leader.

And ever since then, the reputation of Genevieve was known. Once you saw her signature battling style, all you have to immediately do was to retreat. Because even if you call a back-up, it'll be useless.

It was quite fun knowing that the once feared hunters, was scared of his niece, who's only a child and is a woman.

And given by how this hunters managed to live, his niece probably had something cruel to do to them. Maybe she'll make them into a punching bag of hers or much worse.

His niece actually had a habit of turning this hunters into her training equipment and tools. Sometimes, whenever she's training with the warriors of our pack, you'll immediately be terrified when you know that you'll use the hunters as the equipment.

He too, as a Beta, was terrified at first but then got used to it and loved the feeling.
