My Life So Far

I am so excited today I start my dream job, I start work for the Haven Corporation. They are a great company, they dabble in everything around town. I put my application in for two spots, one in the culinary department and the other in the arts department. I signed up with them over a year ago. The wait list to work there is outrageous, and I am so excited because my number finally came up, but I don't know what application was accepted.

I'm sorry I'm getting ahead of myself. Hello my name is Ella James. I am three months away from being twenty-one years old, I am five foot two inches tall. I have long waist length red hair. I have jade green eyes, a small button nose and a light dusting of freckles on my face and shoulders. I have a star shaped birth mark on my left shoulder. I was adopted when I was three. I have the greatest parents in the world, my dad is a retired Navy seal and my mom is a doctor. I love my parents dearly and respect them so much because they never hid the truth from me. You see I am a werewolf who was raised by humans, and we live in the blue Ridge pack. The only reason my parents know about my species is because my mom is friends with the Luna of our pack. It is because of the Luna that my parents got to keep me. You see I was found by my mother wandering down the highway by myself. She pulled the car over and grabbed me before I was hit by the truck coming at me, then she took me to the Luna. When I was taken to the pack doctor that's when they learned I was a Wolf. Since my parents couldn't have children of their own the Luna asked them to foster me while they looked for my parents. They looked for about six months but never found them so the Luna let me stay with my parents. The Luna set it up so mom could work at the pack hospital while my dad helped train the pack soldiers. This way we could live with the pack rather than on our own. Also the Luna was always nervous about me so she wanted to keep me close. She wasn't afraid of me or anything like that but she was afraid for me. She never explained beyond that.

The first time I shifted into my Wolf I was twelve years old. It scared my mom because the Luna told her I'm not supposed to shift till I'm eighteen. Luckily we were visiting the Luna when it happened, she was able to call the doctor and help me during the shift. Everyone was shocked and amazed because my Wolf was white. I guess white wolves are very rare. The Luna swore everyone to secrecy and we didn't tell anyone about it. I did learn that my wolf's name is Lacy. It also shocked everyone that when I shifted back I still had my clothes. Normally when a Wolf shifts the clothes are completely destroyed but not mine. I was shocked but it didn't matter to me.

I learned the name of my Wolf is Lacy. She seems really sweet. I talked to Lacy all the time and we became great friends. This is a good thing because I didn't have many friends in the human world. You see the pack children went to the public school in town. There were a few people from the pack working at the school in case something bad happens. But the main rule is always never let the humans know what we are. So when I got picked on I was not allowed to fight back because someone might learn the truth if I did. I told my parents about the bullies so my dad taught me how to fight and protect myself.

While I was getting training from my dad I was also learning from the Luna what I needed to know about being a Wolf. She covered everything from the shifting to finding my mate. We also talked about when mom found me and what that might all mean. I can tell you now I don't believe I have a mate because I don't know where I came from. My mate most likely isn't here since I'm sure I'm not from here. Don't get me wrong the Luna has been wonderful but since I turned eighteen she keeps introducing me to all of the single males in the pack or who visits the pack. I'm not sure but I think she wants me to stay close. That's one reason why I'm happy about my job starting at the end of the week. Mom was sad when I got the call but after I promised to visit she perked up. Dad was thrilled but he gave me a long speech about protecting myself in a big city. The Luna seemed madder than both of my parents but mom calmed her down. Tonight the Luna is throwing me a good bye party. She invited every single male she knew, I get the distinct feeling she knows something about me but won't share. Why else is she trying to mate me to someone in the pack. I can't wait for this night to end so I can get away from here.
