Chapter 1 - The Beginning

Ashleigh's POV

"Sweetie!" mommy calls me from outside the house.

I immediately stood up and peeked out my window.

"Yes, mommy?" I answered immediately.

"Aren't you ready to go to school yet?" She said while watering the plants.

"Hmm ... later there will be no more classes" I answered with a laugh.

"Jeez... wake up your brother." mommy's command.

"Okay, mommy!" I said jokingly and went outside and then went to my good brother's room.

I knocked loudly on my older brother's door "supposedly handsome" jeez.

"Hey, brother! Wake up!" I shouted while knocking.

'Well, he doesn't answer ah ... Hmm I know!'

I slowly opened the door of my brother's room and peeked first and then entered. I searched every corner of his room but he's not there.

'Where is my good freaking brother? =_= '

I heard a crackle from under his bed so I peeked but nothing suddenly...

"BOO!" my older brother startled me while tickling my side. "You're a naughty huh! What are you doing here in my beautiful and clean room?" he added.

"Is it clean? Not so, it's too cluttered!" I scolded him.

"What did you say? Yours is so messy that it looks like a typhoon passed by..." he said annoyed.

"Well and at least I'm the one who cleans my room, unlike you, mommy's the one who cleans your room." I answered him then rolled my eyes off him.

"Hey, I'm clea-"

"Bluh bluh bluh hmmph! Mommy wants you to wake up!" annoyed I told him.

"Get dressed and we'll leave." my brother said and took his uniform.

"Okay, brother!" I answered once out of his room.

We are now graduating SHS Completers and I am the Valedictorian while my best friend Janielle is the Salutatorian.

Janielle has always been with me from elementary to high school, when I was a kid I was always bullied in my old schools so in the ending I moved around different schools, the reason is because of my unique color hair. They said that my hair color is not normal and it is really different from the children I've always meet...

But mommy said, whatever hair color I have, they love me and they will love me because I am the only princess she and daddy have.

And in the last school I went to in elementary school there I met Janielle my best friend who is smart and beautiful.

So after I got dressed, I brought my bag with only my graduation gown and the hat. My older brother will take me to school today, the program starts at 10 am so mommy said she and dad will coming later. When I got out, my older brother was already downstairs and starts the car that daddy had given him.

"Come on, mommy said she will get dressed while she waits for daddy to come home so they can follow there later." said my older brother.

I immediately nodded and got in his car, my older brother Cedric will be in 3rd Year of College this coming next school year and I will finally be in college too! And if I work harder, I will always be with honors for mommy and daddy and of course for my older brother.

"Next school year by the way ... Have you ever wondered which school you are going to attend?" my brother asked.

"Hmm ... not yet brother, I'll look for it first." I answered.

"I'll go with you."

"My brother, I can do it alone"

"You can't, you might get lost"

"Brother! I'm not a little girl anymore. I can do it myself."

"I know... but... You are the only one I have left as my younger sister" the sadness in the tone of his speech was obvious.

"Brother?" I called him.

'What does he mean by 'You are only one I have left as my younger sister '?'

He sighed and laughed.

'I guess my brother is crazy after all?'

"Okay ... I know you're a big girl now and I trust you that you can handle yourself ... Just don't forget to call me your handsome and smart brother ah!" he said while smiling like a dog.

"Jeez, wow the wind." when I hear it.

"Hey! I'm indeed handsome!" he said laughing.

"Yeah yeah, whatever." I don't seem to want to say anything.

My older brother and I filled the whole trip with laughter until we got to school. Hilario Academy.

I immediately got out of my older brother's car and looked around our entire campus ...

'I will miss it.'

"Jaime!"

I came back to reality when someone suddenly called me by my second name.

"Jaimee!" She called me again who made me immediately turned around

"Janielle!" I immediately ran closer to her.

"I thought you would come later." She said while hugging me.

"That can't be ..." I said laughing.

"Your brother brought you?"

"Hmm yes."

"Where are Aunt Dale and Uncle Archie?"

"They will come later, they promised that they will follow before the program starts."

"Good because I will take a picture with you later, you know... For my scrapbook." She said with a wink.

I just smiled at the same time as I looked around.

"Where are Aunt Grace and Uncle Eroll?" I asked.

"They're inside, let's go ..." She said and at the same time signaled to my older brother to follow us.

My parents and Janielle's parents are also close because Janielle was almost kidnapped when she was young and my daddy was the one who helped Janielle's parents to save her, so since then, we have treated them as almost relatives.

When we entered, Janielle told me to get dressed so that we would be ready later. Aunt Grace did my make-up and fixed my hair.

I also treated Aunt Grace and Uncle Eroll like my second parents.

"I'm proud of you and Janielle." Aunt Grace whispered.

"Thank you, Aunt." I answered.

"Janielle will be transferred to another school, won't you come?" he asked.

"No" I answered politely.

"Why? Don't you want to be with her in the same school?" Aunt Grace asked worriedly.

"Because Aunt... I want to find a university that is really for me. the one that I can feel that is the university that can focus on me, my ability."

"I understand, that's what Janielle told me too."

"I will miss Janielle to be with the same school."

"I'm sure that she feels the same way too, dear." she said smiling while hugging me. "... You know that I treat you like my child too, right?."

"Yes, Aunt Grace."

Aunt Grace and I had a good conversation before the program started. They have been given awards, medals, and

diplomas and I am the only one who has not yet called. Just then mommy and daddy came.

"And now for our Valedictorian Jaime Ashleigh Nevrakis." Everyone applauded as they call my name.

I can see how proud mommy and daddy are to me, while my older brother is shouting so hard hahaha.

"With an award in Math Quiz Bee, English Quiz Bee, Champion in Inventory Science Fair, Champion in Chess and Champion in Games of the General... With High Honors in Academics."

Daddy and mommy immediately went up to the stage, I noticed that Janielle suddenly came down and went to the center. After mommy and daddy put on my medals, I whispered to them to face in the middle so that Janielle could take a picture of us.

Suddenly mommy and daddy hugged me.

"We're so proud of you sweetie." crying mommy said.

Then they went down to the stage.

'It is time for my speech... Man, I didn't bring a copy of my speech ugh... Well here goes nothing...'

I took a deep breath before speaking into the mic.

"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, to our parents, advisors, teachers and our loving school director ... Now we can all look at the various students with honors and Senior Highschool graduates, and this is also the last day that we will see our friends who have been our friends in the last 2 years of studying at Senior High, yes we have all experienced failures in various subjects, we have returned several times to subjects we did not pass ... But this is it, here we are... We have overcome the pain and suffering of various subjects, we have survived, we have been able to fight and give our best to reach it. To graduate... "I took a deep breath before continuing. "... Honestly, I was afraid of failing, I was afraid of becoming a failure for my family. I was afraid that other people would hate me because I was stupid ... So I tried to study hard, I did my best to get here even though most of my classmates are bully hahaha, I won't be here without my best friend who is always there next to me. She hasn't let me down until now. And my older brother ... Who is willing to help me with things I need." I continue to give speeches.

After my speech I immediately bow down in front of the stage and went down, I was immediately greeted by the hug of Janielle and my older brother.

"I'm so proud of you besty!" smiling Janielle said while holding my two hands.

"No. I'm proud for both of us." laughing, I said while hugging her again.

"Nice you two are now also a college now." said my older brother while smiling like a dog.

"Cedric at which university did you and Almira go?" Janielle asked.

"Ah at UST." my older brother answered immediately.

"Is it expensive to pay?"

"A little? Why did you ask?"

"I want to move there!" Janielle said happily. "For sure you're there too besty!"

"No." I answered.

"Huh? Are you serious?" She asked.

"Do I look like I'm joking besty?" I answered seriously.

"Why? I thought you were there too because Cedric and Almira were studying there" the confusion in the tone of her speech was obvious.

I took a deep breath before I spoke.

"I want ... I want to find the school that suits me. By my standard." I answered.

"She also wants to find the school she will attend." my older brother replied.

"Aww... It's a pity." She replied.

After a long day, my brother, mommy, and daddy and I also went home, they were so happy that they could not stop praising me ... But something was also bothering me.

'Why do I seem so afraid of losing them?'

"Sweetie." I was back in the mood when mommy called me.

I immediately turned to mommy and smiled.

"Sweetie, it looks like you're thinking deeply? Are you okay?" mommy asked worriedly.

"Mommy, no ... I'm just happy to have a family like you guys." smiling I said. "... Mommy I couldn't do it without you ..." I added while hugging her.

"Aww sweetie." mommy immediately hugged me too.

"Thanks for being my first teacher, Mommy" I whispered to her.

"I am so glad to have a daughter like you." She says.

After that I went upstairs, I was just on the balcony and peeked outside ... Something in my mind that always needs to be answered, Jeez ... Do you know the feeling that you are not from here in this world? Does it seem like this is not your real world? And you don't seem to have a real family with you?

I feel like something is wrong, it doesn't seem like this is my home ... I don't seem to be for it.

I came back to reality when I noticed that my older brother entered my room.

"Jeez ... I've been knocking and calling you. Why? You seem to be thinking deeply huh?" he said while leaning against the railing of the balcony.

"It's nothing big bro." my answer.

"Nothing? But it seems like you're thinking a lot? Jeez... Tell me, what's wrong?"

"Have you felt something before, you don't seem to belong here? And you really seem to live in a fantasy world? The pure magic is all around? You look like a lost princess ... That one?" I asked while looking from afar.

"Hmm ... Nope, but some of the other people used to think of that, those people are depressed and loner like that." he replied.

"Hmm brother ... Do you believe in another dimension or the parallel world?" I asked him

"Not really, because no one has been able to prove whether that parallel world or other dimension is really existing." he replied while looking up at the sky.

"Isn't it funny? Because brother... I feel like I don't belong here ... And you don't seem to be my real family." I said while looking down.

"Hey, that's not true! You're my sister! It's impossible that your not my sister." annoyed he said.

I just sigh heavily as I looked down.

"What am I even thinking? You are right, you are my family. Hahahaha." I said with a fake laugh that my older brother would not have noticed.

"You know what? Stop thinking about those things? You belong here and we are your only real family." he said at the same time messing up my hair.

"Okay big bro... Thank you for listening to me." I said with a smile.

"Good night Ash ... Sleep now, don't stay up." he said once he's out of my room.

I lay down on my bed and then fell asleep.

I am Ashleigh Jaime Nevrakis and I couldn't find an answer to the thoughts that impossible to answer...
