Selection of new CEO

The announcement of Neil being alive and unharmed was to be spread. But before that some extra arrangements were needed.

All rivals of ANB Corps were dealing with the acquisition as well as an internal strife for the position of CEO was on fire. The ANB Corps has weakened in this period of time. Most were taking advantage of the mess. In such a situation, the annual banquet to celebrate the 5th anniversary arrived. The members of boards have decided to select a new CEO on the day but who was to be the one to get that position was not clear to the public.

Leaving aside all the matter, all began to make preparations. During this period Josh was silently observing all the situations and evaluating each and every members. The members were divided into different factions but there were still some person who opposed the appoint of new Ceo or stayed neutral.

Arik had told Josh to observe those neutral people because those people were close to Neil and had strong uphold within the corporation. They could either overturn the overall situation or take the greatest advantage of the mess.

The day of the annual banquet arrived soon. Arik needed an opportunity to announce his comeback as Neil and the opportunity laid on the platter. He would be an idiot if he don't utilize it. Before announcing his presence he couldn't alert his opposition.

The banquet was a day after settling the matter with Mega. It had been a week Arik returning back to Grasal.

The banquet started and got lively with the time but still there was no presence of Arik and his team. The public were viewing the banquet with great interest. The rivals and the directors who were not in Neil's side were happy because they had thought that someone from Neil's people or his father's side would create a rebuke. There was no sign of revolt as all of Neil's aid were silent all the while. Either they have given up the hope or still persistent that someone will approach them.

The banquet was going smoothly until it was the time to announce the new CEO. Representative of rival's group joined in the process and supported some directors. The meeting and discussion lead them to name three candidate for the position. As all the members of ANB Corps were present in the banquet, it was effective to select one from the three. With the announcement of three candidate, the banquet started to have a heated discussion.

Arik had already arrived in the banquet with Shikhar and Josh had brought them to the second floor room from where the banquet was clearly visible. None other have noticed their arrival.

"Bro, you are stimulating my nervous system. When are you going to make your presence and be on limelight?" Shikar questioned lazily.

"It's not too late. Let's wait for the right opportunity for a grand entrance." Arik smirked observing the movement in the banquet.

"Hahh, I want to visualize their expression after they see you. Will they be happy or horrific…what is gonna happen later is make me more excited…Will there be a bloodbath?" Shikar laughed like a crazy.

"Have patience. It's not good to rush and stop laughing. You are giving me a goosebumps." Arik move a little far from Shikar and made the remark.

Raising a brow, "Hump, rascal, I will leave you for now otherwise you would have suffered in my hands."

Arik raised his hand in surrender.

In the banquet,

After the three candidate were announced, the group were divided into four faction (one being the neutral group). One candidate had lower support in comparison was easily eliminated but the left candidates had good support and competition. No one wanted to back off. It had been more than two hours and was soon going to be midnight but still a new CEO couldn't be appointed.

At last the vote and support of the neutral team was needed to finalize the selection. It was difficult to say who will be the one that those neutral members will support. After that a new battle was started to appease those neutral members.

Out of those neutral members a group of four people stayed out and directly objected as they opposed an appointment of new CEO. They have shown the dissatisfaction for joining hands with the rivals of ANB Corps for personal benefits. Two were in their fifties; one was member of board, one was a head of Account department. The remaining two were in their thirties; both were personal assistant of Neil.

The remaining people of the neutral team was showing a blank expression but their eyes were shining just by listening to the benefits they could get. Human are greedy by nature so it wasn't sure until the last who will stay in the neutral team.

Arik was looking at the situation with great interest. More than anyone, he wanted to know their stand so he could decide their future in ANB Corps later. Arik had investigated all of those member and was satisfied with those four aid of Neil. Those two men in fifties were personally brought by Neil. Arik told Josh to bring those two old men in their room.

"Brother Shikar, attend those two people and try to know their opinion about the member of neutral team. I need to filter the whole corporation within a short period of time. It should be done before the public knows of my comeback." Arik was very serious.

"Sure. Do your work." with those words, Shikhar stood and attended those two people.

From the temptation, one third of the member supported the new candidate and still it was equal.

Seeing the situation not being so optimistic, the candidate used underhand method. The remaining half decided to support one of the candidate by which the another candidate was eliminated. The remaining few in the team remained persistent as not to interfere in the process of selection of new CEO.

The one who got selected was a man in his forties and was member who had largest share than the board of member. Only twenty percent of share of the corporation was distributed to the members while ten percent was to the public. None knew who had the remaining share but most of all thought that the Chairman had the remaining share. As the Chairman never interfered in the matter of ANB Corps (not in the matter after Neil's accident) and with the belief that no one will interfere, the board of directors have been acting almighty.

After the end of selection process, a new CEO was appointed. The two personal assistant of Neil were treated as a traitor and was handed a termination letter by they didn't move a single step to leave. Everyone started to congratulate him but the happiness of being appointed couldn't last long.

A man stood on the stage and took a mike, coughed slightly to attract the attention of the crowd.
