THE SECOND BLOW

"What the heck! "Anika shouted stepping into the house.

"It looks like it was burglarised "Daniel said surprised.

Isabella running behind Daniel, scared.

"Miss Alicia, miss Alicia, "Anika shouted while Daniel dialled 911 on his phone.

"hello, yes officer we just came from school just to see our home disorganised and nobody's at home. I think it was burglarized..... yes we live at 21 Warehouse street, mailbox 4379.... yeah thank you. They will be here within the next five minutes, let's go wait outside "Daniel said taking Isabella's hand.

As they walked out and sat on their front porch they saw the maid coming holding Jake's leash in one hand.

"What happened, why are you guys sitting outside is everything ok? "

"The house is in really bad shape right now, it looks like it was burglarised "Anika answered.

"But I've already called the police, here they are now. "

Just then the police pulled up at the front of the house and an officer got down from the car and walked up to Daniel and told him he wanted to search the house which he was allowed to. During the time the policemen searched the house, Anika used the opportunity to call her mother since her father had traveled for some business. By the time they were through Mrs. Johnson arrived and the policeman that addressed Daniel earlier told her he didn't find any fingerprints or any traces of burglary. It baffled all of them of course, to them it was a burglary.

"Ok officer thank you so much," Mrs Johnson told him as he and his team got in their cars and drove off.

When they got into the house Miss Alicia was almost done arranging the house. Mrs Johnson called her husband to tell him what happened while they went upstairs to get freshened up. No one spoke a word about it to each other or anybody else, but Anika did suspect the maid at first then thought she was too innocent to do that. Then she thought it could have been the dog.

'maybe while he was playing he turned the house upside down.'

'Ugh, my head hurts bad, I should go to bed it's already past eight,' She thought.

The next day, they went to school with the school bus and they all put what happened behind them but they were more security-wise. Mrs Johnson had ensured that a security camera was installed in the house and also made sure that she told the maid to lock the doors at all times.

"Do you know that prom is coming up in five days? "Lisa asked Anika later that day.

"Yeah I know, but I don't think I'll come. "

"Oh come on it's your first prom here and you say you're not coming. Okay, I know what it is you don't have a date to prom, right? "

"No I don't how am I going to get one in five days? "

I'll help you find one since I have a date, his name is Steve," Lisa said while giggling and blushing.

"Okay thanks let's go for P.E class before we're late."

Then they ran off to the gym as fast as they could.

After school when they got home Isabella went to her room saying she wanted to do her homework but ran back out because she couldn't find Jake. They searched everywhere but couldn't find him, Daniel had wanted to go out and look for him until Anika said she just saw him come out of the basement period after that they all went about their business.

"Anika guess what?" Daniel asked.

"What?"

"I got a date for prom this Saturday."

"Woow, so nice." She said rolling her eyes.

He started sniffing her around.

"Why are you smelling me, I don't stink."

"Oh you do, horribly."

"Of what ? "

"Jealousy. "

"you have got to be kidding me I'm not jealous, ok just a little, but still it's not my fault I don't have a date. "

"Tyler said he has a crush on you, he can be a date to prom. "

"Eeew, No! "

"ok then what about Sean he's been asking you out for some time and he is very popular and you know. "

"That's true, let me go call him, thank you you're the best brother in the world. "

sometime during the week the management of the school told the students that they postponed prom to the next two months.
