'' Why? '' Zeralf muttered while keeping his gaze on Genzo.

'' Uh? '' Genzo turned his head in Zeralf's direction and his eyes rose in puzzlement.

'' Why did you suddenly allow him to stay, not only that, you were even thinking of bringing him along. '' Zeralf paused to catch his breath before he continued. '' You barely even know him. '' He said the last part in a very hushed tone.

'' Oh,'' Genzo muttered with a lazy expression. '' I did everything as I deem fit, as for whether you should trust him or not, that's left for you to find out. ''

'' However. '' Genzo again continued, now with a tone that sounded a bit serious. '' You are responsible for every decision you make. ''

Zeralf didn't respond but his face was blank as a result of him pondering over what Genzo just said.

'' White haired. ''

'' Uh? ''

Endra's voice brought Zeralf's senses back to the present time and he sighed quietly.

'' You looked so lost just now. '' Endra glanced at him quizzically.

Zeralf on the other hand didn't answer, he just ignored Endra and continued with what he was doing.

'' Pfft. '' Endra being used to that also continued with the task before him.

They were both currently in Zeralf's living room. Zeralf was sitting on the extreme of the couch and so was Endra, although on the other side. Before each person was a black box that displayed a 3D blue-black hologram.

It was the next day after Zeralf's arrival and it appeared that they were both registering for the EDF exam. Even though it was going to take place in about six months time, the registration had already begun and candidates were provided with black boxes like the ones in front of Zeralf and Endra to fill in necessary information.

Zeralf was in a black shorts and a white T-shirt while Endra was only wearing a brown short.

The hologram was also directing a light beam at each person to register some biometrics as well as to see if some of the information they filled in were correct.

When they were done, Zeralf showered and changed clothes. He was wearing the same type of outfit he wore the day before, although the pieces were not the same, just of the same design and color.

After the virtual registration, they were to meet up at one of the registration centres for physical screening and both Zeralf and Endra were now heading to the place.

The physical screening was the main reason why the registration was started earlier despite the six months gap. Due to the population, candidates were to schedule an appointment in an organized manner so as not to make these centres jam-packed.

Thanks to Zeralf's connection though, it was just the next day that he arrived that he got the virtual test box and an appointment for both him and Endra.

Endra was wearing khaki pants with dark boots and his necklace lay serenely on his bare chest.

When they got out of the building, Zeralf was finally able to see how days looked like here.

Due to Golrich's distance from the sun in this solar system, days here weren't extremely bright. The atmosphere looked grey and cloudy with little sunlight passing through.

Even though the snow wasn't as strong as it was in the night, it was still snowing and strong gusts of wind hit the passersby who mostly were in thick clothing.

When Zeralf and Endra got to the other side of the gate, they saw an unexpected scene that was quite bemusing.

In front of the gate was a tall and lanky lad with rosy skin and mid-length hair. If Zeralf was still outside yesterday night, he might've found out that this boy was the one who was badmouthing him and Endra because of one Lady Kitasha whom he had absolutely no idea of.

Zeralf though did not spare him a glance, and he simply walked past him completely ignoring him which made the latter fume in fury.

'' You! How dare you ignore me, you beggars. ''

Zeralf paused his footsteps with an impassive look, and a chaotic aura began to form discreetly on his right hand, however before he could even take a step, Endra got to action.

'' Patt! ''

Endra instantly appeared before the boy and landed him a heavy slap with his left backhand. The lanky dude lost his footing from the momentum of the slap and he stumbled on the snowy ground

His right cheek swelled up and his rosy skin was now burning. A full handprint was visible for everyone to see even while staying in the distance.

''This idiot, you don't even know whom to antagonize. '' Endra annoyingly uttered inwardly as he appeared beside Zeralf who had begun walking away. '' You might as well die for your grandma dimwit. ''

'' You! '' The boy was finally jolted out of the shocked state he fell into as a result of the slap. '' You bastards, I'll kill you. ''

Ki began to fluctuate as the boy readied to use his Dharma out of fury. Before he could think of unleashing a skill though, Endra again appeared like a ghost and struck downward.

'' You really want to die at a young...uh?'' Endra trailed off amidst bewilderment.

Instead of his staff which now looked like a long scepter after his awakening to hit the head of the annoying boy who wouldn't stop saying nonsense, his scepter was parried by an almost rectangular double-edged big sword with beautiful designs at the edges

Endra saw a glamorous girl wielding the sword that just stopped his attack and his eyes widened in amazement.

She had long flowy blonde hair which reached her hips, sapphire eyes, and a well angled nose, she had very pale but healthy skin which was as smooth as a mirror, and her cheek region had some slight natural blush which added to her facial definition and her soft rose lips was calling for a kiss.

She was in a white button up shirt with loose sleeves and a maroon high waist skirt that had some gold pleating at its loose ends, the whole dress and her elegant countenance added up to her beauty, and Endra couldn't help but speak out.

'' Fa...iry? ''

'' Hmph! '' The girl inwardly snorted. '' As if fairies are the only beautiful race. ''

Zeralf turned at this point in their direction and his eyebrows arched in surprise.

'' It's her. ''

'' It's him. ''

They both uttered inwardly while maintaining deep eyes contacts and the girl's countenance turned slightly hateful as she glared at Zeralf.

Kitasha was astonished when she saw the figure of Zeralf again after her encounter with him on the planet she found herself when she sneaked out.

She despised his overconfidence and cocky attitude and that his peculiar ' I don't give a damn about anyone look '. She still remembered how much she fumed about this when she eventually got back home and her mood was further worsened when she heard that she would be sharing a building with some random unknown strangers.

She had launched a multitude of complaints to her uncle when her father ignored her but her uncle only teased her which made her give up. It was only her maidservant that consoled her and she would make her feel better by swearing for those strangers who might probably profane her Lady.

'' Kitasha, you need to learn how to work with others and tune down your attitude if you want to lead Ezgard to greatness, your uncle and his friend are good examples. ''

Her father's rebuke always pestered her ears and she was tired of this, which made her think he was knowingly setting her up with some people because of her attitude.

Everything would've been fine though if these random strangers were going to stay low-key and respect her, but fantasy was far from reality, the boy who was now on her top list of the least favourite people was actually the person she would share a building with. Wasn't she too unlucky?

'' Ah... Do you people kinda know each other. '' Endra's voice broke the stilled atmosphere as he withdrew his scepter.

Zeralf looked at Kitasha for the last time and began to walk away without saying a word.

'' How dare you walk out on Lady Kitasha's presence. '' The boy who had just been saved from a possible coma uttered, obviously in a bootlicking manner.

'' Shut up I didn't send you. '' Kitasha sent him a chilly gaze and he knew it was time he kept mute.

She withdrew her sword too and began to walk in Zeralf's direction accompanied by a girl in a plain black gown that reached her knees who had her black hair covered in snow and was shouting my lady every now and then while glaring at Zeralf and Endra with great displeasure.

So it appeared that the three of them had their appointments scheduled for the same day and they were now heading to the place for their physical screening after making a scene.

Who do you think is Kitasha's uncle?
