Chapter 2

When you're dreaming, you're always forced relive some moments.

If its a nightmare then you're forced to repeat that suffering.

There was blonde haired man limping across the road. He bent down near a building and scanned the area around.

There was a shabby looking carriage with two robed people standing next to it. Beau examined their faces and dashed to them in relief.

One robed man immediately hugged him while the other slowly pushed him into the carriage.

Inside the carriage was a woman with short black hair, she helped lie down Beau and checked for injuries.

"Dr. Hanna." he said in greeting.

The robed men came in the carriage and revealed themselves to be an older looking Eugene and Mr.Sherrit with curly mop of hair.

"Beau, Mr.Sherrit and Dr.Hanna will get you out of the city and send you to the Holy temple headquarters. They can help you." Eugene said while holding his hands.

They were all injured. Beau had a long slash in his left leg and was poisoned with corrupt energy. Dr.Hanna, who is healing specialist can only help slow down the corrupt energy in his body.

He groaned "What about you guys?"

"We will distract them and join you later on, I'll be coming with you till you leave the city gates. Show them this token, tell them I sent you." Mr.Sherrit stuffed a token into his coat while explaining and getting ready to go out. "There's no time kid, we have to go now."

"Wait, please make sure to come back. Both of you, I'll be waiting for you."

His eyes were loosing focus and tearing up but he cleared his head to get a good look at them.

One was a butler who stood by him, guiding him and protecting him and the other was his mentor, they were his family. Now they were going to risk their lives for him.

"Young master, we will all survive this." Dr.Hanna said as his eyelids started to close.

He vaguely saw them exit the carriage and felt it move away steadily. That was the last time he saw them. Later just when they were reaching the Holy temple, Dr.Hanna, who had been poisoned by the same corrupt energy died.

He was the last one alive.

The dream gradually faded and he saw himself pitch black room, the floor began to turn into mud and he felt hands pulling him into the mud.

The hands were not like the hands of the County men who tried to kill him, they were familiar hands of his family. Slowly and gently pulling him deeper into the mud until he began to feel that suffocating feeling of death.

Beau heavily gasped and woke up on his bed. He had fallen asleep just for an hour or two.

He got up from the bed and washed his face, the boy in the mirror had bloodshot eyes and pale face. He looked too pale, he looked dead.

Beau slapped himself with both hands, his face regained a slight pinkish hue from that.

'I'm not dead'

He closed his eyes and controlled his breathing. He will change things this time, he will become powerful and protect them.

Before he died, aside from the citizens, he was also attacked by people who had corrupt energy, they came after him and poisoned him with that energy and also drained some of his own energy. That's when he found out that he had an affinity with divine energy.

'I can master that energy within me, no one will be able to use corrupt energy on me then.'

Now he has a small goal, time to make a plan.

On the table, there was an enchanted piece of paper with a plan scribbled on it.

How to avoid the terrible fate,

Don't be the count, will lead to certain death.

Join the Holy temple?? Undecided.

'If I can convince Dad and Mom to not make me the count then everything else is a piece of cake.'

His stomach growled loudly.

"I should eat first. "

After his meal, Beau walked back to the study to see his father. He knew he shouldn't rush them so much but he couldn't help it. It's not yet been a full day since he came back but his senses were on full alert, every minute the time passes by its like he's getting closer to death.

'If they are not convinced then maybe I will tell them everything, the future, my death and that I'm somehow back in time. I'll reveal it all.

I'm sure they will believe me.'

"-make sure no one finds out about it."

Beau who came near the study overheard his father and brothers conversation faintly.

"Dad, isn't it better to tell the truth at this point?"

"There's no need, Bexter. Adopted or not, it doesn't change the fact that we are a family."

Beau slowly walked away from the study back to his room. He didn't look at anyone or stop for a second.

'Am I adopted?'

There was an instance where an elder criticised Beaus orders by saying, "You're very different from the rest of your family."

A total random remark, clearly said out of spite but to Beau who was the sole survivor of the family, it sounded different.

His family members were elegant, responsible and thoughtful whereas he was wild, uncaring but also overly emotional.

Beau Monet, although he took over many responsibilities at an early age, he was still just a 17 year old boy, who died, terribly.

He closed his room door and sat down dejected with his head on the desk. The notes he scribbled were scattered on the table along with some older notes he had taken when he wanted to be the Count. He closed his eyes and recalled his dream where he ran away from home and...

"If I'm not here, they can't make me the Count."

Beau's blue eyes sparkled at the thought. From his window he could see his mother and Annalise come back.

He can save them and himself. He can leave here then his family will have no choice but to select a better heir and he can go to the Holy temple. With his talent they could train him to destroy corrupt energy.

There was a prodigy trained by the Holy temple in his previous life. That man completed training near the edge of city Gaha, just next to the forest of demonic beasts. A person like that could help me in the future as well. The papers mentioned his name as Horace.

"Horace Lionheart, the divine swordmaster."

The mornings at Monet castle are usually very serene, the castle was surrounded by the glass decorations and the morning sun would reflect on it creating beautiful colors across the gardens.

But this particular morning, Madame Dorothy, who was worried about her youngest son decided to visit him. Beau had skipped dinner saying he felt unwell and he had not shown up for his morning training as well.

Naturally, she had also heard from her husband about Beau's unusual decision.

But the room was locked and there was no response.

'Maybe he is asleep.'

After an hour of waiting, it was still the same. The family began to worry and gathered in front of his room gradually.

Herald Monet, his wife Dorothy, the eldest son, Bexter and their daughter Annalise who was joined by Mr.Sherrit, Beau's teacher and Dr.Hanna.

Eugene hurriedly brought the master key and opened the door.

The room was empty, bed untouched.

Herald immediately sent orders to his guards. "Search the castle. Find him."

Upon inspection, they found some clothes, small possessions and a bag of gold missing from the room.

There was small note on the desk.

Beau had run away.

Hi, Tashi here.

So I know that some bits seem too dramatic but that's just Beau.

Wait till you meet the gang, you'll love it.

Feel free to leave any suggestions on how to improve my book.

Thank you <3
