Chapter 8

While I was finishing up taming the axe head, I got a notification. When I took a look at what it was, I was shocked.

{Taming attempt successful. Due to finding and completing your first hidden quest you are now allowed access to the systems shop.}

(Ok I will check that out later when I am back at base) I thought but putting those thoughts away I needed to wait for the axe head to wake up to return home.

When it finally woke up, I expected it to go on a rampage. Instead, it started to rub its head on me making a purr like noise. When it finally stopped doing that I had us head back to base. While on the way back the axe head kept trying to get my attention and for some reason it wanted me to go in the direction it came from.

Deciding to humor the beast I decided to let it led me off our track back to base, to wherever it needed us to be. When we made it to the location of where it was leading us It appeared to be a little home carved into the side of a mountain. When we entered, I had left three frogs to guard the entrance while I and two frogs and the axe head poked around for whatever it was trying to show me.

What we found inside of its home was the fact that it did not carve out this location. It just took it over. There were pieces of paint and fabric and what seemed to be pieces of broken weapons? Feeling that something was just not right I decided to poke around a little bit more and there appeared to be what looked like a dark brown wood of a chest with a lock on it.

Deciding to see what might be inside of the chest I broke off the lock with my spear. Seeing what was inside, I was shocked. This chest contained coins that were gold, silver and copper. What is this all doing here out in this jungle? Seeing that I have treasure now we decided to bring all this back to our base.

When I laid my eyes upon my base, I noticed that there was no damage which is good because it means that we were not attacked when I was gone. I was pleasantly surprised when we entered to see the two frogs that were left here to defend it, we're having an arm wrestle of sorts.

While the two frogs were arm wrestling, they heard noises and they turned towards us and when they saw the axe head they immediately jumped while pointing their wooden Spears at it while producing a croaking noise. "Woah chill out it's on our side now" I said to which they immediately relaxed.

As we were sorting out where to put the loot, I was thinking about using the paint and the fabric to make a flag. I was thinking of using the symbol that I had used on the axe head. It took about twelve minutes to make and stick to a sturdy stick and though I did not know it, in the future we would be known as the webbed hands, a force to be reckoned with.

While I was attracting the flag to the wall at the entrance, I couldn't help but marvel at what I had made. The fabric of the flag was a pale green with the webbed hand on it a dark forest green. After I got done with that, I couldn't help but remember that the system as it calls itself said that it has a shop feature. It made me wonder what would be in the shop like does it sell food, medicine or weapons stuff like that. Deciding that the only way to find out would be to open it.

Deciding to pick armor as it would help me in the long run to give my frogs armor.

Leather gloves - 64 copper

Leather boots - 53 copper

Leather helmet - 73 copper

Leather vest - 82 copper}

They all cost copper and I don't know if I can afford it. Fearing that I might not have enough money I decided to check the chest and see how much money is inside. We have 5 gold coins, 78 silver coins and 98 copper coins. I decided to buy the leather boots as the shoes I was wearing were torn to shreds in this terrain. I am now left with 45 copper coins.

I could spend a silver coin on the leather vest and be left with 77 silver coins and 58 copper coins (a 100 copper coin is equal to 1 silver coin and 100 silver coins is equal to 1 gold coin). Trying on the new boots they fit perfectly on my feet. When I put on the vest, I felt more protected and able to withstand more attacks. Thinking about it, I decided to look at my status.

I see it would look like that wearing armor gives a boost in stats but only when I wear it.
