The lunch that day was an extremely disappointing one; it was delicious, but definitely not worth waiting a couple of hours more than usual. A bunch of noodles drowned in an extremely fatty broth, with even more fatty cuts of meat floating all around the edges of the dish; there were thinly sliced carrots and probably also some vegetables; but overall, the dish was too heavy for my delicate taste; the others, on the other hand, had different opinions. Folarin was of the same opinion, but the other went crazy for that dish; they devoured it as if they had been starving for years and quickly demanded a second portion, even though the portions were already giant size.
The four newcomers, on the other hand, refused to eat with us, not because they didn't trust Forren's culinary skills but because, in their culture, it brings bad luck to eat something they haven't killed themselves. It weakens the mind, at least so they said.
