After our parents left for home, we got settled into the rental house. I could do this. I could be with Michael.

Ugh, I wish things were more straightforward than this. Why was I so scared? Why did I have doubts?

The girls and I headed to town to have lunch and check out the area. Then I saw Michael talking to another girl by a storefront. What the hell?

I stopped as the other girls were walking. They stopped when they realized I stopped walking. They walked back to me.

/"Is there a reason your feet aren’t moving?/" Larkin asked.

I said nothing but stood there, watching Michael with a chick. My blood began to boil.

/"That’s the reason,/" Lakin said, pointing at Michael and the girl.

/"It’s not what it seems,/" Piper said.

The girl leaned over and kissed his cheek.

/"Or not,/" Piper said.

/"My brother is an idiot./" Mia facepalmed herself.
