Spring break fiasco

We traveled to the beach house in Myrtle Beach for spring break. It’s crowded with everyone having to bunk together. Imagine all the cousins, the Harpers, and us together in one house. It wasn’t pretty, but it worked.

I needed space. I couldn’t deal with a lot of people. I know there are many people at my house, but we also have our rooms. Maverick is lucky. I love him because I don’t enjoy sharing my space with anyone.

After we arrived and got settled, I was getting anxious. It happened a lot while growing up. The one person who could calm me down wasn’t here, Dad. The next best thing is Lex because he was a mini version of Dad.

I became overwhelmed while Maverick tried to calm me. It wasn’t working. So, he left.

I paced back and forth, feeling my heart beat out of my chest when I heard a voice. /"Lark?/"

I turned and looked at Lex. /"Make it stop. I can’t do this./"
