Chapter 2

"Were going to be late for Phoebe's album party!" Serena rushed.

Last week, Phoebe finally released her debut album, after signing into Sanga records earlier this year. When I listened to her lead single, I was stunned, and I got chills from the song's production and Phoebe's beautiful voice.

"Coming," I grabbed my new Gucci bag, as I ran to the front door.

When I walked out of the door, I saw the new limousine Serena had recently bought, and the driver was already sitting in the driver seat.

I opened the limousine, and placed my handbag on the carseat, as I hopped inside. I closed the door, and waited for Serena to get in.

A moment later, I saw the front car door open, and Serena got inside the limousine.

"You can drive now," Serena approved, after closing the door.

The driver started the limousine, and soon enough, we were out of the driveway.

"So, what is your favorite song on Phoebe's debut album?" Serena asked.

"Umm... I think Mistakes."

"Yeah, same I love Mistakes," Serena agreed, "But Sunrise is also good too."

"I'm not really into soulful music," I confessed.

I looked out the window, and saw shops closing, while the lights started to appear all over downtown Mokland. People were walking on the sidewalks, talking and laughing. Only a few people were arguing in the distance.

"Did you study for the test?" Serena questioned.

"Yep, and I'm confident that I'm going to do good," I answered with pride.

"Good, 'cause it is a final test."

Soon enough, we turned into a small driveway, and I saw a big building in front of the limousine, with an ad that shows Phoebe Redwood.

Serena thanked the driver, as I walked out of the limousine.

We both walked to the front door, as I was constantly pondering what the party will look like, and if James is also going to be there to celebrate.

When we walked inside, Phoebe's album cover was displayed at the center of the room, along with balloons and gifts.

"Wow, this is an outstanding representation of Phoebe's hard work!" Serena exclaimed.

"Welcome, Penelope and Serena," the manager at Sanga Studios greeted us.

"Thank you," I replied. "Your team was absolutely remarkable at producing Phoebe's debut album."

"Well, I must say," the manager boasted in pleasure, "it really is nice hearing a fan comment once in a while."

"Hi guys!" Phoebe called and rushed towards us, interrupting the manager. "Thank you so much for coming here!"

"Of course we came!" I gushed.

"Everyone is at the dining area," Phoebe told us. "We're just about to have dinner."

"Am I late to the actual party?" I asked.

"Nah, you're fine," Phoebe replied. "We're going to dance after dinner, anyways."

We followed Phoebe to the dining area, and to my surprise, James was there.

I guess James heard about the party, I thought to myself.

"Hey Penelope," James called to me with a wink.

I walked to James' seat, and gave him a peck on the cheek, before I sat down at my seat.

"Can I have your attention!" Phoebe announced. "After dinner, we're all going to dance!"

Everyone, including James and me, clapped loudly.

"This is going to be fun, isn't it?" James commented.

"I haven't attended a party since the bachelorette party 6 months ago," I reminisced.

"The first time you met me," James added. "It was love at first sight."

"I know," I agreed, grinning foolishly, slinking my hand into James'.

After we all ate, we dashed to the dance floor. Soon enough, I could hear the music play as people were cheering and dancing.

I noticed the tiles started to light up, and when I looked around, there was so much lighting and people.

"You go, Phoebe!" a girl yelled, as Phoebe started to dance.

James started to make his way towards me, with his hands in his pocket. I felt my face flush and looked down, sort of embarrassed. His hair was slicked back perfectly, and his smile made me even more nervous.

"Care to dance?" James offered with a grin.
