Chapter 18

Alex was sitting in a wheelchair, one arm in an arm cast, looking so happy, it was close to giddiness. I couldn't blame him, living in a hospital for a week must be hell. He should be happy he's getting released. Some people stay for months, maybe years.

"Penelope! Phoebe!" Alex exclaimed and perked up. "You guys came to see me! I'm getting released today!"

"Of course we came!" Phoebe gleamed. "We had to come to celebrate. We missed you so much!"

I rushed over to Alex, and gave him an affectionate hug. A moment later, I let go of his arms, as the doctor was telling me to move so that Alex can be removed from the hospital bed.

I watched the doctor gently carry Alex from the bed, as Alex looked nervous and excited to be able to finally walk again. I will always remember the moment when Alex survived from the shootings of the criminals, and all the blood and tears.

"What's happening so far?" Alex asked, as I was holding his hand.

"Well," I started, "While you were in the hospital, I set up traps for the criminals so that they can't escape the palace."

"Wow, that's impressive!" Alex commented, looking surprised.

"I did a lot of planning while my siblings were still crying over a reasonable divorce," I remarked.

Phoebe shot me a serious look, as I was about to start speaking.

"Anyways," I chuckled, "So I found this secret handle in the secret tunnel the criminals did not know about, and I tugged the handle inside the tunnel, and apparently it unleashed a rope cage to trap the criminals."

"Good thing you found out the secret handle or else the criminals would've gotten away," Alex congratulated.

"Yeah, and did you see the look on the criminals face?" I asked Alex, laughing so hard.

"I think we should get going," Phoebe interrupted, motioning me and Alex to the front door.

Me, Alex, and Phoebe dashed to the front door, without saying goodbye to the receptionist.

"We should see how Serena is making up to Sam?" I suggested, as we walked to the streets.

"Yeah, hopefully they work out and reunite," Phoebe predicted.

As we continued walking in the streets, I saw the sign Pamela's Italian Restaurant, and I pointed to the restaurant sign.

"Yeah, we should eat there," Phoebe recommended.

"Yeah, I heard the pasta is mouth watering, and the pizza is tasty," I informed, "They even have condiments and deserts."

"Sounds like a good restaurant," Alex nodded, agreeingly.

We walked over to Pamela's, as I was thinking of the good food. When we walked inside the restaurant, everyone was looking at me with surprise, as paparazzi came out of nowhere.

"Penelope, Penelope tell us about the crime?" One reporter asked me, yelling.

"Should we leave and go home?" Phoebe asked, nervously.

"Yeah, cause apparently I'm famous for solving a crime," I told Phoebe.

"Oh right," Phoebe chuckled.

"Guys, we need to get out of here before more people fill up," Alex warned, pointing to the front door.

We pushed past people and paparazzi, as they were all chasing after us.

"Penelope, are you and Alex dating?" Another reporter asked in the background.

"They're siblings, you little shit!" Phoebe yelled back.

"Ugh news reporters," Penelope mumbled.

"Don't mind them, they're fucked up," Phoebe reassured.

When we got to the palace, I saw Serena and Sam talking to each other, as the palace gardens looked fresh and beautiful.

"Wow, I guess they forget things after a while," Phoebe commented.

"For the most part I'm glad they're back together," I smiled.

We ran towards the front porch, as Serena was waving at us with joy in her eyes.
