Chapter 16

I saw the criminals walk towards me, so I ducked inside the chair, hoping not to get caught.

"We should get out of here, we're going to get trapped or something," the vocal teacher warned.

"Quiet, we need to steal more stuff for the police leader!" Queen Mendoza hissed.

This all makes sense now! The criminals kept damaging stuff, just to please the police leader.

As the criminals were walking towards the foyer, I quietly but quickly dashed to a secret spot that led to the front garden. I am not going to let these criminals get away with their actions. They need to take accountability for their actions, and soon the police leader needs to get fired from his position cause he is the problem in our justice system.

When I peered out of the secret latch in the garden, the criminals were already heading out of the palace, feeling defeated. They won't escape after I throw rocks at them!

I grabbed a pile of rocks from my backpack, and aimed my arm directly at the criminals. I let out a powerful throw, and the rock went flying across the garden, and hit the criminals, as they were screaming in pain.

Without hesitation, I quickly closed the latch door, before they had time to find out that I threw the rocks at them.

As I was crawling through the narrow hole, I saw a handle that looked very unfamiliar. I probably was too busy thinking about how to escalate my plan. At first, I thought the handle was a trap from the criminals, and I was hesitant to pull the handle because it could lead me into a trap.

But, I brushed it off, and reached my hand to the handle, and grabbed it with mighty force. I finally got the handle to turn after a few seconds, but immediately after, I heard a loud whoosh! sound, and I immediately panicked that I turned the wrong handle.

After I reassured myself that it was one of the traps, I went up the tube, and opened the latch to see what's going on, and to my surprise, the criminals were inside a rope cage. As I climbed out of the hole, I was feeling relieved that it was the handle to the rope cage.

"Penelope, you little brat!" Queen Mendoza hollered.

"You guys thought that I was that stupid to not know what you've done, huh?" I asked, furiously, "You think I didn't know what your plan was all along!"

"Penelope, what is this?" Dylan asked, shocked.

"Well, what do you expect Dylan, they were stealing our stuff all along," I explained. "And they were also working for that nasty police leader who kept on demanding money from Serena."

"Okay, keep doing what you're doing," Dylan told us, as he walked out.

"Penelope! Let us out or we will kill you with our bare hands!" one criminal threatened, "You don't know who you're dealing with!"

"You'll know soon," I warned, as I was calling the police.

"Don't you fucking dare!" Queen Mendoza growled.

"You're just guilty that you've done it," I yelled, as the emergency dispatcher picked up.

"Nine-one-one, what's your emergency?" The dispatcher asked.

"Hello, this is Penelope Redwood, and I caught these criminals that destroyed our town for the past few weeks," I introduced.

"Okay, stay right where you are, I'm sending backup immediately," the dispatcher instructed.

"Yep, I heard they were stealing money from my palace," I added.

"Where's your location, sweetie?" the dispatcher asked, not sounding sweet.

"1 Sanga Avenue," I responded.

"Okay, we will be there with emergency personnel," The dispatcher informed me.

"Okay, bye," I hung up the phone, as the criminals were looking terrified.

"We're sorry for what we've done," Queen Mendoza begged.

"No," I reprimanded, "You are not sorry. If you were sorry, then you wouldn't have tried to steal from our palace, and kidnap and torture my boyfriend!"

I saw red and blue shadows, as the police were walking to the garden.

"The criminals are right here!" I called, pointing to the criminals.

The police broke the ropes, and handcuffed them, as glory was in my eyes.

"You are under arrest!" one policeman yelled. "You have the right to remain silent."

The criminals and the police immediately walked out of the garden.
