Chapter 28

The next two days she stayed in bed with a high fever. She was dehydrated. Everything was blurry. She heard some people coming and leaving her room but she couldn't tell who they were. At some point she felt some pain in her abdomen. There was a small commotion and she even remembered Jiha's worried expression. She saw there was blood on the sheets and then she passed out again.

A few days passed till she was able to leave the room. In the corridor she met Omar, a young beta slave who was helping in the kitchen.

"Omar, how's Assun?" Ina asked quietly after she made sure they were alone.

Omar looked scared, he kept looking around while answering quickly.

"Assun is better now but she almost died. The lady had a massive fight with the master. We all have been tiptoeing as any louder sound can earn us a beating. The lady can be very cruel." He added and left quickly. Ina took a deep breath. Her chest was tight and she was scared. She entered the main room looking around if Adele was there. She noticed Jiha reading something while sitting on the sofa. As soon as she entered he raised his head.

"Ina? You are up, how do you feel?" He got up and approached her.

"My poor baby." he touched her belly. "Don't worry, you will have another baby. I'll make sure of it." He kissed her forehead. Ina looked at Jiha with round eyes.What did he just say? Was she pregnant? Has she lost her child? The deep shock made her tears roll down her cheeks. She was unable to pronounce a single word.

Jiha hugged her and she could smell his comforting pheromones.

"I'm sorry Ina. You are a young and strong Omega. We will have another child. For now make sure not to come in contact with my wife and if you do bow your head and step to the side. Don't disobey her while I'm not around. Be obedient." He kissed her head and Ina felt like a little child coaxed with few meaningless words to shut up. Jiha patted her back and she was allowed to go to the kitchen.

Ina automatically moved her legs. Her head was a mess. She couldn't barely process her own feelings. She lost her child before she even knew she was pregnant. Ina touched her belly, still unsure how she felt about it. She actually never wanted to have a child as long as she was a slave here. However now her head was blank.

Adeline was rushing down the corridor only to come across the hated Omega. The girl was standing in the way with her hand on her belly. Somehow this pose made Adeline furious. That bitch managed to get pregnant in such a short time. Omegas are really nothing more than a vessel to bear children.

Ina noticed the approaching lady, she moved aside and lowered her head. Adeline passed her by strolling straight to the main room.

"Darling."

Ina heard her greeting her husband. He responded in a friendly manner and soon they were chatting as if nothing had happened. Indeed, she was the only one to bear the consequences, she was a slave after all.

That night Jiha came to her room. He whispered sweet words into her ear and they had sex. It was quick as he had to go back to his bedroom, to his oblivious wife who was waiting for him. Jiha left and Ina felt dirty and used.

A week passed and Jiha returned home with big news which was announced to his wife. Ina was lucky to be around so she heard the conversation.

"Today I was called by the Great Council. I have received my promotion. Starting next week I will be responsible for maintaining the security affairs of the whole city. Right now my dear wife I became the Main Commander of the Inner Defense." Jiha looked happy and Ina could smell his pheromones, the man felt like an invincible Alpha.

"I'm so happy." Adeline kissed him and sat on his lap.

"Today we have an invitation to the house of Wineron. They are celebrating Doha's birthday." Adeline's voice sounded sweet. Ina decided to go out. Sitting in the garden will be much better than watching them being so intimate. Ina couldn't help but feel jealous, her Omega senses were telling her that another woman is touching her Alpha. It was distressing.

In the afternoon Ina was summoned to Adeline's private chamber. It was unusual and Ina couldn't stop thinking about what she might have done wrong and what the lady might do to her.

"Lay Adeline." As soon as she was allowed to enter, Ina bowed her head just as Jiha told her.

"Ah, you are here." Adeline's hair was combed by her private maid slave as she was sitting in front of a vanity chest.

"Get ready, you will accompany your master during today's visit. Try to look presentable." All this was said with a cold indifferent tone.

"Yes my lady." Ina left the room. It was unusual that she was ordered by Adeline.

Ina went back to her room. Since she was supposed to make herself presentable she decided to pin up her hair and even decorated them with a white flower along with a white long dress without any ornaments, she looked like a statue. Ina decided to underline her eyes and put some golden powder on her cheeks. She also added some bal on her lips making them look full and a bit sparkling. The last thing she had to put on herself was a thin golden collar with a chain. She hated it.

An hour later Ina was waiting next to the door for the masters to be ready.

Adeline came first, wearing a blue sparkling dress with a sapphire necklace. Jiha was also wearing a blue shirt and black trousers. They matched well together, however Ina didn't feel inferior, next to Adeline because the Omega's figure looked more feminine and her simple clothes underlined her natural beauty.

"Why are you here Ina?" Jiha frowned seeing her dressed and waiting at the entrance.

"I ordered her to do so. She will be a nice decoration." Adeline smiled at her husband and all of them left the hall.

Tar was standing at the carriage, he was shirtless wearing only loose white trousers. He also had a collar around his neck. So it seemed he was going too. Ina sighted.
