Trials

The room was dead silent. Even Lucas didn't say anything out of respect. Only Luthers closest allies didn't have fear from Luthers words. They had respect and admiration. Everybody in the room that wasn't close to Luther felt the power that was coming off of him.

Luther was no longer playing buddy buddy this time around. He learned his lesson once before so he would not accept anything less than complete loyalty and submission.

"The laws are simple. You either follow them or accept the consequences. I know everyone is use to the 4 laws that have been in place since Mazaya and I separated but that era is over. These laws are set in stone and If you have a problem with them, you can set up a meeting with me.", Luther said with no room for negotiation.

There were murmurs everywhere. "If we are being forced into Dictatorship can we atleast get our memories back since you said that they were altered." Syn The Goddess of Justice asked with complete confidence.

Luther looked at her with a small smirk. Syn was one of the Neutral Gods. She wasn't good or evil. It helped with trials of the accused. It would make sense that she wanted proof of the memories that were lost. One of the new laws or you can call them rules for her is that she was not allowed to help anyone seek justice without Luthers approval.

Trials were not normal trials but magical. So if the Goddess of Justice was able to prove someone innocent, that person would be protected by the magic of trials to prevent any punishment. Trials were used mainly for Gods to prevent death or false allegations. When going to trials they usually didn't lead to death that's why most people that broke a law were fast to seek a trial.

Death was allowed outside trials but once the trails were activated death was the least likely. Gods could have punishments anywhere from being magically restricted for an eternity or something as severe as living your life like a powerless mortal who could live forever. You kept your memories but most Gods who got that punishment went insane.

Luther wanted to make sure any Gods going into trial didn't have the help to win it. He also got to chose the punishment now since he also changed a law making it where The Goddess of law no longer had control over punishments. He couldn't change the punishments that could be given out, that's something only Mazaya could do but he could chose the punishment.

He changed alot of laws. Any law that was broken would be taken to trial. He would prefer to punish people on his own terms but if someone broke a law and did a spell to request a trial he would have to settle with the punishments written in stone. Once he got Mazaya to start complying with him again he could change the punishments.

Mazaya was the only person who couldn't go to trial. Someone tried to take her to trial in the early years of their marriage to get her punished for allowing him to rule but all that happened was a magical glitch. It was the first time something like that happened. It was the first trial that the results were concluded within seconds without any evidence.

The conclusion was the Goddess in question was too important and trials aren't allowed. Balance would forever be destroyed. After research from the Royals and people who were trying to punish her they found that if something happened to her the magical realm would be worse than when someone taps into time magic.

That's when Luther knew he could do whatever he wanted and get away with it. Everything he did was in the name of his wife. No one could punish her and it worked in his favor for their whole marriage. Gods couldn't beat him because he had his wife on his side to protect him whenever he did something not allowed.

Killing Tier one Gods was one of the things not allowed because of their importance. A trial was required for any Tier one God who was accused of commiting a crime. If someone killed a tier one god it would skip the trial and be automatic death but Luther found a loop hole. Mazaya was more important than a tier one God and even if she could be punished time would just reset.

So Everytime he needed something done that could get him killed he had her sign the papers giving him the go ahead and making it seem like she was ordering the action. He would make sure that she was distracted and than have her sign it. She never really questioned it because the dangerous stuff that she had banned would not go though even with her signature. Resetting would make all Gods alive again so killing Gods wasn't banned. That's why a trail wasn't aloud even if she could be punished. She was important.

She was an abomination. The first God to be born light and dark that was why she was so powerful and basically became the source of magic. She was the reason all Royal Gods did a spell to make it impossible for light and dark to procreate. And if any god did they would instantly die because of the power of the law. The law prevented another Mazaya. It was automatic death the moment the sperm hit the egg. Mazaya used her magic to make the law unbreakable even by her. With the Royals and Her it became the one law that would exist for an eternity.
