More Than Sparring

After the ninja left Rei had put them out of mind temporarily. Making his way through the main area of the building Rei began thinking to himself. 'It has been two years but I'm not sure if we're ready to deal with this.' Over the past two years, he had made it his goal to focus on three things.

One getting stronger. It was the most obvious thing sure but it was important nonetheless. When he was in the Leaf he learned something. Ryujin Jakka was in no cases weak it was actually too powerful. Even though he was able to release it into its Shikai form he could barely keep activated for a couple of minutes.

With that being the case if he ever got into a long-term fight that couldn't be finished within that ten-minute time frame he would die no ifs or buts about it. So he made sure to practice and train in every way he could think of. And with two years being that period he had made leaps and bounds when it came to progress.

The second thing was Seiki, Ren, and Fuyumi. They were way too weak and underdeveloped even as Shinigami. Alongside his training there took priority. Even when he wasn't able to train them himself he still gave them regiments to complete. In the end, he could say he was happy with the results of him being so hard on them.

And finally, the third thing was creating this place. Or to be more precise this place and the area around. A world filled with Reishi enough to support a spiritual body. All of these things were in preparation. In preparation for what exactly? Well, that was the fourth thing Rei had been working on alongside Ren for the past two years.

Making his way down a hall Rei found the door he was looking for. Opening that door Rei walked into the room and was greeted by an even more Reishi rich atmosphere than outside. "Are you still alive in here?" Looking around Rei saw dozens of bookshelves. Though only half of them had books on them, the books that were there were big.

Littering both the floor and the multitude of tables in the room were papers covered in designs and whatnot. Continuing to walk through the room Rei kept looking around until he spotted someone lying head down on a desk. Walking over that person Rei could see they were fast asleep with even more papers lying under their head like pillows.

'Of course, he's sleeping.' Shaking his head slightly Rei proceeded to tap the desk with his hand. "Huh…" Waking up to the shaking Ren slowly lifted his head only to spot Rei standing in front of him. "Oh hey, Rei." Rolling his eyes Rei gestured for him to stand up. "I still can't believe how long you're able to sleep for despite not needing to."

Standing up Ren stretched before coming from behind the desk. He was wearing the clothes over top of everything else just like Seiki was along with having the same symbol which represented their Clan. By his side attached to his waist was his Zanpakuto however unlike before it had a green-tinted design lining the sheath and hilt.

"Sleep is important, it helps the brain come up with better ideas." Trying to lecture him Rei didn't bother responding. "Let's grab Seiki and Fuyumi and make our way to the training grounds. It's time for our guy's last spar before we head out." Listening to Rei as they made their way out of the room, Ren heard the words 'head out'.

Looking up at Rei with both confused and slightly shocked expressions he replied. "So where are you going to use that thing? I thought you said we would only leave when we were strong enough." Hearing him Ren glanced down for a moment. "Well, originally that would have been the case. But we were greeted by some guest earlier and I doubt we will have any time to relax or train soon."

Walking back into the Main Area of the building Rei spotted Seiki standing near the entrance seemingly looking for someone. It was as he was looking around that he spotted Rei and Ren. "Oh, there you are." Walking over to them Seiki sighed in relief. "I was looking for you Big Brother Rei. What happened to those ninjas from before?"

Tilting his head slightly Rei spoke. "You mean after you left? I just sent them on their way so we shouldn't have to deal with them for a bit." Mentioning the fact Seiki bolted the moment Rei began releasing his Reiatsu Seiki just tried to laugh it off. "So Ren what have you been doing cooped up in your room all day other than sleeping of course."

Looking over at Seiki Ren smirked before pointing at his feet. "Bakudo #7: Supiritto Rinku." Materializing from the space around Seiki's legs chains made of pure yellow light began to appear. "Eh?" Not realizing what was going on, Seiki felt the chains circle his leg's before locking themselves in place.

Not being able to move he ended up tripping himself as he fell face flat into the floor. Following his fall Seiki's Zanpakuto fell as well directly onto his back. "I've been studying if that answers your question." Containing his laugh Ren continued to walk ahead with Rei who was also trying to stop himself from laughing. "Ow… Why do you and Fuyumi always test your new skills on me."

Looking back Ren was still containing his laugh as he released the Bakudo. "Cause you have the densest Reiryoku out of all of all three of us." Standing up and grabbing his Zanpakuto off the ground. Catching up to them they eventually made their way to a special area behind the building.

The area itself was still inside of the walls. This special area was originally just the backyard of the building that had been forcefully flattened out and was perfect for the spars Rei would have against the three of them every once in a while. Looking at the field Rei spotted Fuyumi standing in the center of it.

Just like Seiki her Zanpakuto was in its released state. Her sheath had transformed into one that was pure white with gold at both ends. But the one thing that changed the most was the blade itself. Instead of following the structure of a normal Katana, her blade was double-sided with no guard and a completely straight white hilt.

'They are all so lucky.' Unlike Ryujin Jakka their Zanpakuto's didn't have a spirit that was over a thousand years old. And because of the difference between Ryujin Jakka's own power and that of theirs's they could keep their Shikai's activated almost 24/7. When Rei realized for the first time how easy they had it he almost asked if he could trade Ryujin Jakka out.

Standing in form Fuyumi was preparing to practice when she heard the sound of footsteps behind her. Turning around she stopped what she was doing when she spotted the three of them walking towards her. "Wow, it's been over a month since I've seen you two here together. Are we doing another sparring session?"

Rei nodded his head to her question while at the same time both Ren and Seiki both prepared to move to the sidelines. Seeing that Rei turned to them. "Where are you two going?" Hearing Rei they both looked at him in a confused fashion before Seiki spoke up. "Well, I thought you would fight against Fuyumi first since she's already warmed up and all."

Hearing that Rei smiled. "Nope, we're not doing one on one sparring today. This time it's going to be all of you versus me." The three of them almost cocked from hearing Rei. Speaking up first Fuyumi grabbed his arm. "Big Brother Rei you're not serious right? I mean you can beat us one on one but all three of us using our Shikai? That could kill you."

They weren't as inexperienced as they were before. Thanks to Rei's training they knew exactly how to deal with lethal strikes and have made up for their falls to an extent. On the other hand, Rei had been so busy teaching them they barely got to see him training himself. If they all fought him at once he could die or get seriously injured.

Hearing her Rei chuckled before shrugging his shoulders. "I'll admit you guys are strong. But don't think I haven't been keeping up with my training." Despite what Rei said all three of them seemed sceptical. Moving back onto the field the three of them hesitantly got into position. "How about this I'll make 'Frozen' the safe word. Then we'll stop the sparring alright?"

Eventually, all three of them nodded as Rei drew Ryujin Jakka from his sheath. He was excited about this. For the course of these two years he had seen their Shikai's inaction but he had never fought against them while they had them active. 'Let's see just how much of my training has gone to heart.'

Forming a triangle like formation around Rei all three of them waited for his signal. "Alright then Go."

Yikes got really overworked with school so didn't have time to edit any of the chapters or post them for that matter. Anyway all that's cleared up now so on with the story!
