Abandoned family

Jayna woke up still gasping for air. She got up from the sofa where she was sleeping and stepped into the bathroom. The faucet was turned to make a noisy sound of running water, she looked at the reflection of her face that appeared in the mirror for a long time then bent down to wash her face with the water that was allowed to flow and took a small towel by the side of the sink to wipe her wet face.

Jayna threw the towel randomly, out of nowhere to throw it, she was sure the towel was already in a special basket for used clothes. The clothes she was still wearing had been taken off and thrown in the direction she believed to be the same as the towel.

The clock on the wall still showed around 10 am and Jayna took a deep breath.

"Still not late." she mumbled.

She reached for the cellphone that was on the bedside table, then sat on the floor and then leaned against the bed while sliding my finger up and down on the cellphone screen. While trying to check instant message notifications, but only spam messages.

Again, I opened the instant messenger. Jayna immediately looked for the contacts of her two brothers in the family chat group.

"Ah, all the last seen was earlier.." Jayna stood up and climbed into bed, then made a group video call to the two of them.

"Where are you guys? Home?" Jayna leaned her cheek against the pillow.

"Yes, I'm at home. But I still have a little work to do." Jake kept staring at his laptop screen.

"Still at the clinic. You just got home, Jay? How was the meeting? Was it well?" Jade spoke while taking notes.

"Offcourse running smoothly bro..." Jayna answered briefly.

"Jake, are you and your family healthy?" Jade turned to Jake.

"We are all healthy. Your family is also healthy, right?" Jake asked back.

"Yes, we are healthy. This weekend, we are going on vacation to East City, right?" Jade confirmed our vacation plans that they had planned 2 months ago.

"Yes, definitely bro!" Jayna and Jake answered it in unison, suddenly making Jade chuckle.

"What's wrong Jay? Looks like you have something to say, you don't look like usual." Jake is sensitive to Jayna's unusualness.

Then Jayna told her dream, her two brothers were silent without moving anything in front of them. They were silent for a long time, Jade immediately broke the silence with his new idea for this weekend's vacation.

"How about we go to grandpa and grandma's village during the holidays?" Said Jade, leaning on his chin with one of his hands clenched into a fist.

"Are you serious Jade? Don't you remember that we were kicked out by Father's younger siblings because they thought our family was just bothering grandpa and grandma?" Jake shifted his laptop and stared intently at his cellphone screen.

"Yes, yes, we lost Mom and Dad because we were kicked out by those people. I never hated grandpa and grandma, we just want to visit." Jayna added.

The three of them knew very well why their father and mother were willing to accept an assignment to work out of town at that time. None other than wanting to give the three of them a decent life. Their parents were forced to take their three children with them even though they still live in a rented house and have difficult financial circumstances. In the end, their family was able to move into a rented house that was bigger so that it would be enough to accommodate their family. The house that is currently occupied by Jayna is their family's first rented house. Jayna couldn't let it go because there were many happy and sad memories there before her parents left for good. After their parents died, they had to leave the house because they didn't have much money to extend the rent. At that time, Jake moved to a free campus dormitory, while Jayna moved schools and lived in a rented two-plot Jade. Jade had just started working as a clinical doctor at that time and did not have a big salary yet. Jade manages the remaining money from their parents' savings and all the compensation money from their parents' company. Everyone there would know that her father really wanted to do more than just push his brother-in-law. It seems, at that time her father really wanted to throw his fist at his brother-in-law's face. Her mother pulled Jayna's hand and hugged her so as not to see what happened. At that time, Jade and Jake went to the fields with their grandpa. On his return, their grandpa only glimpsed the incident when her father pushed him. Maybe the grandpa was also surprised to see the grandma sitting on the floor in tears.

After slapping his son (Jayna's father), their grandpa shouted to throw their family away.

"Get out of here!! Take all your children, you are someone who doesn't know how to thank the people who take care of your children!" The old man waved his hand pointing outward.
