Meeting Them

As the lid to the pod lifted Paul finally saw the faces to of his kidnappers. They looked surprisingly normal at least in the sense that they had all the limbs a normal human would have. Though if you looked at their hair colors, ears and eyes you got the feeling they were a bit different from the humans he had known.

They kept on in their mumbling that sounded almost like a butchered English mixed with Chinese and Russian. The only thing he could pick up was "another one" in their speech. Finally they turned toward him and put something resembling ear plugs in his ears. Paul was a bit too scared to actually say or do anything until whatever was stuck in ears activated.

One of the individuals in uniform a male(?) with shiny gold almost translucent hair and teal blue eyes stepped forward and said "Welcome ancient, to the ship 'Madonna' in the airship fleet of the People's Federation of Vaalbara."

Shocked that he could actually understand what these people were saying all Paul could do was put on a dumbfounded expression.

The man who just spoke turned to one of the people behind him that wore a white military looking outfit and had shocking purple hair and slightly pointed ears and asked "Are you sure the translator ear pods are working? The ancient one isn't responding."

The purple haired person looked up from the holographic tablet they were holding and said "They don't seem to be malfunctioning. I believe that the ancient one is just in a state of shock sir."

This snapped Paul out of his stupor and responded quickly "I can understand you, don't worry."

This made the unknown man referred to as sir laugh and say "Well that's great, then I would think you have some questions about where you are am I right ancient one?"

Paul who was so relieved that he could finally get all his questions answered said "Yes that would be great sir, though I would prefer if you called me Paul instead of ancient one though. Could I know what year it is and what's the People's Federation of Vaalbara?? Also what was that monster that chased me down? What are you going to do with me???" All of this was said in rapid succession and didn't let the man say anything at all until Paul had stopped.

The man smiled and said patiently "Well Paul, it is currently 300 A.C. and the People's Federation of Vaalbara or just the P.F.V for short is the government in control of this continent. The monster that was chasing you just now is a droalen that occupies the wildlands of this continent. For the last question concerning you…. well we're not sure yet."

Paul trying to comprehend everything had his eyes glazed over from confusion and mumbled "Wow, I really am in the future or another world." Paul then snapped out of it and asked "Wait 300 A.C.? What happened to A.D.? How much time has passed since 2020 A.D.?"

This time the purple haired long eared person who looked like a girl(?) answered his questions "It has currently been 390 years since 2020 A.D. The reason for the change from A.D. to A.C. is because of the great cataclysm that happened 300 years ago and destroyed much of the earth and brought strange evolutions to some of the animals transforming them into the monsters known as droalen. You will receive further history later when you take the ancient one's course on reintroduction to society."

After this little history lesson the golden haired man spoke and said "You will briefly stay here on the Madonna for awhile until we reach the city of Venner. You can refer to me as Captain Senivan and this person beside me is Vice Captain Rene. I'll let her fill you in on what you will be doing on your stay on the Madonna. I will have to depart now let's talk later in the afternoon." Serivan smiled and left through a hole in the wall that appeared out of nowhere.

Paul at this moment was still a bit freaked out understandably and also relieved since it didn't seem like he would be dissected or anything though he was wondering what this reintroduction to society meant.

"You will be assigned to a job on the ship for your stay and you will also read and watch all the files on this halo." The Vice Captain said all of this in one breath as she handed a device with a bunch of holographic screens coming out of it. She then said "The halo is a device that is based off of a tablet or phone from your time period, the mechanisms should be similar. Next we will take a tour of the ship."
