"About that… well, let's just say that they have accepted my revival quite nicely. All of the servants inside my mansion are very loyal to me, even when I died, they never left my mansion. They have kept it clean and they just lived there even though I'm not paying them anymore, all of them did it with their own will, and some of them used their own money. I'm very thankful for me." As Amane was answering her, Yuki noticed that she had a genuine smile on her face, and from that she could tell that she really cared about all those people.
"Oh really? That's good, I thought you would just be in your house all lonely, and that Aika is the only one who is keeping you company." Yuki smirked as she teased her which earned a grumble from her which she was satisfied to see.
Just like that, the two continued talking for about five more minutes about just telling each other stories of what happened to them, and just as Amane thought that their conversation was nearing its end, she realized that Yuki didn't ask her a single question about Aika.
"You haven't asked me anything about Aika, are you going to ask her yourself if that is the case?" She asked her curiously because, from her perspective, Yuki wasn't that type of person. She was always hungry for power and knowledge, but it was just very concealed because of how she acted. Even with the little time that she got with her, she noticed how much she did in her free time.
Yuki was either reading books about history, laws, theories, and many more. Or that she was always training in secret and she even thinks that it might be the reason why she was so different from any other people that she had seen. Her hard work always translates to how powerful and smart she really is even though it doesn't show as she hid it with her cold and indifferent aura. But all of these were just assumptions that she made on how she thinks Yuki's personality is as she was simply too hard to read.
"Ask her myself? Yeah… definitely no. She won't tell me anything, even if I try to push her. I'm just trying to waste time, that is all. But since you brought it up now, might as well ask you." Yuki sighed as she then took something from her storage ring before putting it in her mouth. Using the lighter that she got, she lights her cigarette and begins to puff out the smoke.
"How do you think that? She's a bright girl, you know that right? She hates lying, you were even the one who taught her that." Amane asked as she was even more curious now as she then glanced at Aika who seemed to be having so much fun while talking to her sisters and mothers.
"Hiding something isn't necessarily lying, you know that best. Anyway, how is she, is she adapting to your world quite nicely?" Yuki casually remarked as she then asked her on how is Aika.
"She's fine, the first week was pretty rough because she pretty much stayed cooped up inside of her mansion. She won't even have a long conversation with the servants because she feels too awkward about it, but after some time she begins opening up to them. She even made friends with all of them." Amane simply answered with a smile on her face as if she was proud of what her daughter did, but it wasn't just her. Yuki was just the same because she knew how her daughter was, even though she was bubbly, she wasn't like that to people she didn't know or was comfortable with.
"That's good, how about real friends? Like friends who are the same age as her, no wait. I mean friends who are also a child, I forgot that she is just about 1 year old like me." Yuki asked with a bit of difficulty as she always forgot that Aika was just a year old, so saying that she had friends the same age as her only meant that she was friends with babies.
This slip-up made Amane into a fit of laughter as she would have never expected that the woman who always boasted about her excellent memory actually forgot the age of her own daughter. But when it came down to memorizing details about her enemies or about just something in general, her memory was terrifying, but when it came down to something like this, it was bad.
"I know what you are thinking and don't even fucking judge me. It's weird I know, but I don't even know it myself. I guess the only thing that I really remember the most when it comes down to something related to family or just emotion, in general, is the day when I and Kurokami became official, the same thing with Fumiko. Of course, their birthdays are there as well, including my daughters too, my Mother, and Serene, no wait. I don't remember that woman's birthday since I didn't really care about it." Yuki defended herself as she began to inhale smoke once more.
"You sound so proud of yourself… but then again I guess you can call that an improvement. But to answer your question… I guess? She does talk to some kids and you don't have to worry those kids are nice and kind, they even like playing with Aika. But even though they are playing, I can see that Aika is holding back or more precisely she is keeping a distance from them." Even though the kids couldn't see it, I could see it as an adult." Amane said as she voiced out her concerns and when Yuki heard it, she stopped for a moment to think why was that.
Aika loved playing and she made lots of friends when she was in Mystic Dragon Heaven, especially with children she loved playing with all of them. So she didn't even think that the problem lay with her daughter, there must be something going on, and when Yuki was racking her brain to know what it was, she saw a glimpse of the moon above her.
"Are there only fairies in your Heaven?" Yuki simply asked which confused Amane, but she still answered her with a yes.
"Then, answer me this. How do people there see people who are of mixed race? Do they accept them or do they discriminate against them? Because if you are forgetting, I'm a Fox and you're a Fairy, so that makes Aika a mix-race."
