MILES
I really do not like this risky, unpredictable game that Axelle seems to be playing lately. It's like watching someone walk a tightrope without a safety net, and I can't help but feel that she's headed straight for a disaster.
There's a nagging, unsettling sense deep within me, whispering that she's going to get hurt, maybe even deeply hurt, or worse, this whole thing could spiral out of control and end terribly for her.
"What's wrong?" Jay's voice pulled my attention away from the message Axelle had just sent. His brows furrowed as he studied my expression. "You look like you just lost a million dollars."
"I feel like that too." With a heavy sigh, I dropped the phone onto the desk. Swiveling my chair towards the window, I stared at the cloudless blue sky, the unease growing in my chest. "Something bad is going to happen." My gut was screaming at me, and my instincts never lied.
