Chapter 40

As Adair looked around it, all she saw was was dust and more dust. There was so much dust that she was worried that if she started to wipe some of the objects off with just her hand and nothing to absorb the dust that she was going to have a hard time breathing because of the amount of dust on the floor and items all around the room.

Another concern that Adair had was what if she was not supposed to be in this room and that it was left unused for an important reason. She soon doubted that, though, because if that was the case, then why would the door be unlocked and easy enough to push open that someone as young as her could do it.

She was tempted to come back to this room later because, with the amount of dust covering everything, it would take a long time for the room to become even somewhat available to walk through without causing piles and piles of dust to fly into the air.

The problem she was running into was that she did not have any way to clear away the dust. She had not found a vacuum or even a broom and dustpan to even start and try to clean up this mess.

She did remember that there was a towel in the restroom, though, but she soon forgot about that idea since it was only one towel and mountains of dust. Still, her curiosity was really strong, and she really wanted to explore this room, so she still decided to enter it, but as soon as she did, she knew she had made a grave mistake.

This is because as soon as she took just a single step a cloud of dust came flying into the air, which then made Adair start a sneezing fit that lasted like forever to Adair. As she was sneezing, she stepped out of the room and closed the door behind her. Once she had exited the room and stopped sneezing, she had noticed that quite a bit of dust appeared to exit the room and was sitting on the crystal floor outside the room as well.

When she noticed this, she was worried that she was going to be in trouble for making such a mess but then realized that if she was somehow able to clean it up before someone found out that she had made such a mess, then she would not get in trouble. So her next order of duty was to find a way to clean up the dust outside the door.

So she went to the hallway that led to the classroom and then went to the gallery. This time instead of turning left and entering the foyer, she made a right and entered a small room that appeared to be an extension of the gallery. When she entered this room, she had the option to ender the door to the right, which, when Adair checked, led back to the classroom. When she went to the left, there was a small room that did not appear to have been used, so she ignored that room and went through it into another room. This room had a whole bunch of weapons hanging on the walls ranging from bows, to spears, to great swords taller than Hank, to laser weapons, to weapons Adair had no idea how to use or what uses they were used for.

While Adair definitely made a note of this room to come back to in the future and restrain herself with the weapons, she had learned in the Galactic Empire, but right now, she was too worried about being in trouble about making a mess that she did not spend a whole bunch of time in this room either. She then went straight through this room as well, and she found herself in another living room-like area which was nearly the same layout of the room she had slept in the night before, but the difference to this one was that it had a small kitchen attached to it.

She briefly looked in the kitchen to see if there was a broom and dustpan or a vacuum, but she did not find anything. She was starting to wonder if this house even had a broom and dustpan or a vacuum because she was not finding anything at all. This was when a very frustrating idea came into Adair's head. What if there were brooms and dustpans, and vacuums, and many other cleaning devices available, but they were all locked behind an interface that Adair could not access.

This idea dampened her mood a lot, but she did not give up quite yet. She then exited this room, and when she did, she reached a garage of sorts with all different types of vehicles ranging from electric cars, to motorcycles, to tank like vehicles, to something that looked like a scooter with a rocket on each side of it to a mech like a vehicle.

But when she looked for exits in this room, all she found was the way she had entered. She then went back into the living room area and this time went down back towards the front of the house, and this time she found another staircase heading to the second floor, but she also found another restroom and two bedrooms, each having one huge bed inside of it.

While she was pleased that she was able to find a two-bedroom so that she wouldn't have to sleep on the couch, she still did not find what she was looking for and when she then went into the last three rooms of the house, all that they had in them were small crystal tables in the middle of them which Adair assumed was an interface for her to use to get what she wanted out of these two small rooms.

She left the two small rooms defeated and not knowing what to do but try to pick up the mess by hand. So she went back through the entire building until she reached the dust room again and looked at the ground, which still had clumping's of dust all over the ground.

She then went and grabbed the towel from the restroom and started cleaning up the dust clumping, which took a while but eventually, they were all cleaned up. She then opened the door to the room. Adair to get one last look at the room but still not seeing anything change she just decided to close the door and think about this room later and headed back into the classroom to further organize the flashcards.

She organized the flashcards until her wrists started to hurt, at which time she decided to take a break and try to go exercise and practice with some of the weapons in the weapons room. So she went back to the weapons room, and this time instead of no one standing in the room like before, a man about six feet tall with blood-red skin and pointy ears was standing there looking very annoyed.

And as soon as he saw Adair, he came over to her and started speaking to her in a very angry tone and telling her that she had completely wasted all of his time today and why was he even here if some little child couldn't? Follow a simple schedule.

When Adair heard this, she started to freak out because she had no idea that there was a schedule that she was supposed to be following. She didn't even know how to access a schedule she was supposedly supposed to follow, let alone follow it, so why was this man so angry at her?

The man appeared to be taking her silence as confirmation that she had done something wrong and kept on lecturing her about how it was important to be to places on time and how that she would fail at life if she decided to just be lazy and not follow a set schedule.

At times like these, Adair was really wishing that she could speak the language or at least be able to have a pen and paper to write down what she was thinking because no matter how much this man thought that Adair liked being yelled at, she really did not like it.

Eventually, this man stopped yelling at Adair and told her to go pick up a small sword, and he would teach her the basics of sword fighting. Adair was tempted not to listen to this man after the repeated 10-minute verbal beatdown she had just gotten, but she figured that since she was going to practice here anyways, it didn't hurt listening to what this man had to say about her fighting. So she decided to go grab a tiny sword that fit her size quite well and was also a pretty good weight for Adair. It was a bit heavier than what she would have hoped, but it would have to do.

When she grabbed the weapon, she brought it back with her to the middle of the floor where the man was standing, and he started his lesson.
