Chapter 36

Adair's first thought was that it was very suspicious that this feather appeared right now. It was almost as if it was a trap. So Adair made sure to stay clear of the feather and to not to activate it either. As the first day passed in complete darkness, Adair started to wonder if it was really such a bad idea. She really did not want to spend Millennium stuck in this darkness again.

And she was 99% positive that some magical robot would not be coming and saving her again since the contract she signed said that the Federation of Reincarnation only one reincarnation was allowed. Adair stayed away from the feather for three more days until her impatiens got the better of her, and that was the worst that could happen. It couldn't be anything worse than being trapped in this void for nearly forever again. Right?

So she Activated the feather and immediately found herself in a different type of darkness than before. While it was still pitch black, it somehow was different from the blackness before. It was almost as if this darkness had a limit to where it was, whereas the previous ones went on forever.

And just as before, just as she was looking around, Anahel, in all of her glory, reappeared and this time exclaimed, "this is quicker than I expected. Have you come to accept my deal?" Before she accepted, she wanted to make sure that there were no loopholes or exploits because while she still accepted the deal by the Reincarnation Machine, it had hidden a whole contract from her.

Before I accept, you won't make me go kill someone or mind control me or exploit me or anything like that, right? Anahel looked shocked when she read what Adair wrote. She responded, with who do you think I am? I am not the ********** ** ************* who tricks innocent people into terrible contracts.

I am a God of my word. All I will ask is one question, and as long as you answer honestly, I have no problem helping you become a demi-god. Adair was slightly worried that Anahel was just going to say, "oh, you are already a demi-god," and not help her at all, but she realized that this was probably her only option to heal herself since this "God" promised to make her a demi-god that must mean also making sure she doesn't die before becoming a demi-god and even if she does say "oh you are already a demi-god" She could always tell herself that at least she tried.

She then wrote that she accepted the terms, and she began to wonder what question this "god" would ask. And the question that Anahel asked was, "Who is your Mother?" This is not what she was expecting to be asked at all. Out of everything that Anahel could have asked, asking about her mom was not something that she thought of.

Adair briefly wondered if Anahel was talking about her mother from her past life but she quickly shot this idea down since Anahel really shouldn't have any idea about her past life. Adair also saw no reason to lie for such a simple question, so she responded by writing, "I was only with her for a couple of weeks before she sent me away, so I do not know much about her. Is that ok?"

A look of confusion appeared on her face, but she responded with, "That is not an issue; just tell me everything you know." Adair then wrote, "my mom had rainbow-colored hair and had crystal wings just like yours, but she only had two and not the eight that you had." Adair also gave Anahel the height and body type, eye color, everything that she could remember about her mom.

When Adair stopped writing, Adair saw tears in the eyes of Anahel, and she was wondering why this would be. Did Anahel and her mom have some type of relationship that Adair did not realize? She then started running through her thoughts, trying to remember if she knew about Anahel was that she was one of the God's from the book her mom gave her, but she did not remember reading about her mom at all in the books, so Adair was confused on why Anahel was having such a dramatic reaction.

Adair was tempted to ask why she was having such a dramatic reaction but worried that if she interfered with this personal moment of Anahel, then she would not help Adair. Adair soon realized that while they agreed to a verbal agreement, nothing was in writing, and Adair did not have any proof that they had made an agreement.

This was when she realized that maybe she was not the best at agreeing to contracts and made a point to consult someone else she trusted before agreeing to any contracts again in her life. It took a bit for Anahel to calm down and stop crying, but once she did, she thanked Adair and said that she would prepare people to teach her. And she started to walk away, but Adair cried out, which got Anahel's attention.

Do you need anything else? Anahel asked. This was when Adair wrote that she drank some black liquid, and she thinks that she went into a coma and wanted to see if Anahel could do anything because she was worried that she might be dying.

Anahel then responded with "Sure." Anahel appeared to create a crystal magnifying-looking object out of nothing and looked through it at Adair. Yet again, a look of shock came over Anahel and then one of worry. She then quickly asked Adair how much ********** did she eat. Adair was slightly confused because she clearly saw Anahel's mouth say something, but she did not hear what she said. So Adair clarified, "are you talking about the black liquid?"

Anahel then responded with an annoyed "Yes," and Adair then quickly responded by showing Anahel with her hands approximately how much she had drunk, and this is when Anahel's muttered, "how are you not dead," which made Adair become very worried.

Anahel then made several more devices out of thin air and then Commanded Adair to sit in a chair that had just appeared. As soon as Adair sat down, the new devices that Anahel just made came over and surrounded Adair. The first thing one device did was strap her arms and legs to the chair; another device then injected Adair with some liquid which started to make her feel numb and sleepy, and then another device started scanning her with crystal light, but that was the last thing that Adair remembered before she fell asleep again.

When Adair woke up, she was still stuck in the chair, but all of the devices that were previously around her were gone. In their place were odd looking people in full protection gear surrounding her. She also noticed that a crystal bubble seemed to surround her as well because everything she looked at had a golden hint to it. She tried to look at who these people were, but their protective gear stopped her from seeing what they looked like.

This situation continued for a couple of hours until Adair saw Anahel again, and she appeared to be speaking to them, but Adair could not hear what she was saying. All Adair could see was that Anahel's mouth was moving. Adair then saw the people in the protective clothing leave, and this is when the crystal bubble around Adair also disappeared; and then lastly, the restraints restricting her movement were also removed.

Adair tried to stand up but noticed that she was too weak to do so, so she just continued sitting in the crystal chair. Anahel then walked up to Adair and touched Adair's arm, and when she did, Adair felt a wave of energy flow through her, and when she tried to stand up again, this time she was able to.

Adair also noticed that when the energy was done going through her body, it was collected in her wings. Adair then bowed as a thanks to Anahel because that black liquid she had eaten appeared to be significantly more dangerous than what she had expected.

She still wondered what that liquid was, so she signed for the crystal writing sheet again and once she got it asked Anahel what the black liquid was, and all Anahel said was its poison. Adair wished that Anahel would go into more details than that because it was pretty obvious at this point that it was poison, but Anahel did not seem like she was in the mood to explain further, so Adair dropped the topic.

Anahel then said, your body is too fragile for you to go back into it right now, so you will have to stay up here for the foreseeable future; but Adair didn't hear what she said as a crystal mansion appeared right behind Anahel.

Anahel then said before leaving that she would be sending some tutors to Adair because she needed to know more basic information about the galaxy before being able to become a demi-god.

And then the last thing Anahel Said before leaving Adair was that if she ever saw her mom again, she owed her another huge debt.
