The Flow of Time is Broken

Things are not unfolding the way they should. Someone or something is messing with the very fabric of time itself. Events that were never meant to occur are now happening. People who were destined to die remain alive, while others meant to live now find themselves dead. The natural order has been disrupted. Destinies are being rewritten in ways they were not supposed to. Time itself appears to be malfunctioning, causing ripples that violate the way events were originally fated to play out. The rules that govern what is and isn't possible no longer apply. Reality as it was once understood has been thrown into chaos. P.S. - 1: Chapter names are inspiration from th great manga 'Gintama'. Holy fuck it rhymes =============================================================== P.S. - 2: This is a story that I had in mind for past couple of years but because of many things could never put forward but now I might finish it with you guys. There are few stuff that you should know before jumping into it, for first my inspiration for this book is ASOIAF, Kingkiller Chronicles and Malazan empire. Another thing is there is no thing such as plot armr. Last thing to know is that this is story of whole world, so we will not be following a fixed character but keep changing POV. Each volume will take up to a new place where the story will start from the beginning, for example the first volume will set up a big event which will then be addressed later in second volume near the end, third volume will pick up from somewhere in First volume and join in the big event near the end something like this. The world I have in mind have total of five continents and each of this continent share a different world, so each continent will have a different magic system, different culture, different beliefs, different mindsets of people. Later it will be explained why is that.

Chapter 42

The sea churned with activity as Glenavon 'Beastly' Karver's formidable pirate fleet prepared to make landfall. Over two hundred ships of various sizes and shapes crowded the waters, creating a bustling scene of organized chaos.

On the deck of Karver's flagship, the Black Dagger, crews rushed about, securing supplies and readying the landing crafts. Karver's elite corsairs moved with purpose, inspecting weapons and armor in anticipation of the upcoming assaults.

Karver himself stood tall at the prow, his imposing figure casting a shadow over the deck. His muscular frame strained against his patchwork armor, and his greying hair danced in the sea breeze.

"Listen up, my scourges!" Karver's booming voice echoed across the waves. "The time has come to unleash the Pirate King's wrath upon these lands!"

A rough cheer erupted from the pirates, fueled by the anticipation of chaos and plunder.

"We will be the first to strike at the heart of these kingdoms!" Karver declared, rallying his crew. "No village will escape our fury! No treasure will be left untouched by our hands!"

Karver's piercing gaze swept over the armada, daring any hint of hesitation or cowardice to show itself. But his corsairs met his stare with equal fervor - they were among the most ruthless and relentless killers to sail the seas.

"First and foremost, we-" Karver's next shout was interrupted by another voice booming from the nearby flagship, the Blood Moon, belonging to the infamous 'Corsair' Barnum Seifer.

"We strike with unmatched force, Beastly!" Seifer's voice rang out defiantly. "It will be the Corsair's blades that claim the greatest spoils from this kingdom's rich harbors and villages!"

Despite their shared goal of conquest, a fierce rivalry simmered between the two warlords' crews. Each sought to outdo the other in brutality and plunder.

Karver flashed a toothy grin, his own crew responding with jeers and insults aimed at Seifer's sailors. He raised his arms, allowing the tension to build for a moment.

"Ha! Let's see which rabble proves themselves the fiercest masters of slaughter!" he bellowed, laughing fiercely. "I wager every scoundrel from both our crews will find their share of glory and riches before this kingdom's cries fade away!"

The roar of anticipation reverberated across the waves. With over a hundred thousand seasoned pirates under their combined command, Glenavon 'Beastly' Karver and Barnum 'Corsair' Seifer were poised to unleash a relentless storm of devastation upon the Maridian mainland. And their initial onslaught would only be a precursor to the utter destruction and subjugation to come at the hands of Samuel's merciless invasion force.

The clash of swords and splintering wood resounded across the tumultuous waters as Auberon 'Renegade' Carlton's pirate vessels engaged in a fierce battle with the kingdom's naval escorts. Cannonfire roared, and grappling hooks flew in a chaotic exchange, sending sailors from both sides plunging into the sea.

Despite the intensity of the naval confrontation, Carlton held his brigands back from unleashing total carnage. He prowled the deck of his flagship, the Kraken's Bane, watching the unfolding chaos with a keen eye.

"Is that the best you can muster, your sorry lot?" Carlton's taunting voice carried across the gap between the fleets, shrouded in smoke. "I was hoping for more of a challenge before we send you to the depths!"

The renegade captain was a fearsome sight - his muscular frame draped in the hide of some ancient beast, adorned with an array of deadly weapons. A wild gleam danced in his eyes, revealing his manic delight in the chaos of battle.

One of the pirate ships lurched heavily, flames erupting from its gunports as a fortunate shot ignited its powder stores. As the crippled vessel began to sink beneath the waves, Carlton's laughter rang out triumphantly.

"See how easily we dispatch your feeble first wave?" he jeered. "I tire of this game - it's time to show these pitiful souls the true depths of our wrath!"

With a sweeping gesture, Carlton rallied his crew with a commanding shout.

"To me, you scoundrels and miscreants! Let us unleash our fury upon these fools! Ready your weapons and draw your hatchets - every navy pup must meet their end!"

At his command, the pirate fleet unleashed its full ferocity. Cannons roared, tearing through the naval ships with grapeshot and chain. Harpoons were thrown, allowing the pirates to swarm aboard the kingdom's vessels in frenzied boarding actions.

The sea quickly became a scene of chaos and carnage as Carlton's corsairs unleashed their bloodlust upon their foes. With wild abandon, they hacked and butchered their way through the navy's ranks. Carlton himself watched with manic delight, taunting any who dared to meet his gaze.

Within moments, the once-mighty naval escorts lay in ruins upon the crimson waters. As the final cries of resistance faded away, Carlton threw back his head in a chilling laugh that echoed across the waves, marking their victory with chilling finality.

The piercing sound of bosun's whistles sliced through the chaos aboard Escott 'Cold' Middleton's pirate vessels as his disciplined crew prepared for departure. Feet pounded against worn decks as crew members moved with efficient determination, their actions honed by years of experience and countless battles.

In the midst of the controlled frenzy, Escott observed with a cold, calculating gaze. His expression betrayed no emotion, his demeanor that of a predator focused solely on the task at hand.

His gaze swept over the activity, searching for any signs of weakness or inefficiency. When he found it, his response was swift and merciless. A pirate who faltered felt the force of Escott's mailed fist, crumpling to the deck under the weight of his disapproval.

Unlike many of his counterparts, Escott commanded a disciplined group of killers. For them, pillaging and plundering were pragmatic necessities, not sources of pleasure. Under Escott's unwavering discipline, even the most brutal acts were carried out with cold precision.

As the final ship was prepared and secured, Escott's first mate Felix approached, snapping a salute. "The Spite and Malice are ready to depart, Captain. All other vessels await your command."

Escott offered a brief nod of acknowledgment. "Then give the order. We sail for the Maridian mainland without delay."

He cast a disdainful glance over the bustling pirate armada. "Karver and his crew may indulge in excess and revelry, but we will simply... proceed."

Without further ado, Escott turned and made his way to the quarterdeck of his command ship. There would be no grand speeches or cries of excitement from him before their impending landings. Only the cold, relentless advance of his feared forces, ready to bring chaos and destruction.Top of Form
