The Rise
There was popular discontent in the Army and calls to overthrow the king among the public , Lieutenant Molinari was watching this closely , He manipulated the Obsidian Blades , the second most poweful institution in the country after the King himself and declared that he would march to the Palace if the King did not handover power voluntarily he would be executed, The King refused and Molinari kept his words.
The King's bodyguards were no match to the Blades, The Palace collapsed in just 10 hours and the Monarch was brought to his knees, There he was begging for mercy, his crown in Molinari's feet , His Throne put on fire he realised he was no more a king, Molinari allowed the king to address his public for one last time.
The King appeared on the balcony, large crowds had gathered to listen to their king one last time, people shouted Liberty! Freedom! .
King Aldric started "My dear subjects this is the last time I address you as thy King" pew! pew! , it was the sound of a gun, a young republican in the crowd had shot the King right in his heart, the King shouted with pain "Ahh ! the shots inflicted on me will be the final nail in the coffin of the Obsidian Empire" and Molinari whispered "Aye, mi Emperor".
Molinari had the King's family executed but let the widow of Aldric Valenor II live but deprived her of all Royal Titles such as the "Empress of the Obsidian Empire" "Duchess of vanham" she was ordered to be away from politics and was allowed to live in a villa with a few servants and 15 bodyguards.
Molinari conferred upon himself the titles of "Supreme Chancellor Bruno Molinari" "Father of the Republic" and "Heavenly Leader" and appointed himself head of stated of the Obsidian Republic on the wee hours of 29 April 1968.
He imposed various restrictons on freedom of expression and condemning the Government was outlawed.
Obsidian Republic was now a dictatorship though not on paper Republicanism ceased to exist…
