Chapter 5

As the king opens the door of the Hwarang residence and steps inside everyone's attention turns to him and people start murmuring,

"Wow! He is so handsome! How can such a handsome man be a Hwarang? Wow look at that face, I wish I could marry him."

Everyone is delighted to see the king except one person- the queen. In a confused manner she asks him,

"Who are you? And why are you here?"

To this the then general Oh Soon Hwang replies,

"Your Highness, he is my nephew Oh Ye Jun. As you know I don't have any children because I didn't get married, he will become a Hwarang from our family to protect our king."

"My apologies for arriving late Your Highness. I got involved in some matter but I promise not to disappoint you and His Majesty from now on." says the king.

"You are forgiven, stand accordingly now, for the ceremony. General please began the ceremony now" commands the queen. The queen still seems very shocked but hides her expressions and behaves normally.

The king from now on decides to live as a Hwarang and observe the other Hwarangs. As soon as he stands with the other Hwarangs they start murmuring about him,

"What does he think of himself? He is not even that handsome to begin with. Must be good to be the general's nephew." says Kim Dae Hyun who is the only son in the noble family of 'Kim'. As he is the only son, he is raised with too much love and affection which makes him think he is the best among everyone.

"I wish I should have also made a grand entry like him and then everyone would have been looking at me. Ah! I missed that chance." says Park Dong Min from the noble family of 'Park'. He is the eldest son of the family who has no interest in any power but is most clever among the others.

"Just mind your own business everyone. We will see how he is once the training starts. Don't judge him yet, who knows what talents he has." says Song Won Shik from the noble family of 'Song'. He is the middle son among three brothers who is strong and rational. His elder brother is a well ranked officer in the military and the most close person to him.

"Ah! Why am I even here? I want to go in my room and sleep already. When will this ceremony end?" says Kang Beom Seok who is from the noble family of 'Kang'. He is the youngest son among his eight brothers and has no interest in anything and prefers being alone minding his own business.

The king smirks as he listens to the noble's sons and thinks-

"It is going to be interesting."

He hears someone say, "Why are they even here if they are not focusing on the main issue which is why we are here, those idiots only know how to eat and roam around doing nothing."

He looks around for the person saying this but doesn't understand who said that and then thinks, "This voice, why does it sound so familiar? Have I heard it before or was I just mistaken?"

The bell rings indicating that the queen will be stamping the paper of officially recruiting Hwarang. All of the Hwarangs then bow in respect to the queen and then she leaves the place by giving the king a last angry look.

The general then announces, "From this moment on you all will be regarded as Hwarang and you all will be living here in these quarters which will be known as Hwarang Quarters. Your training will be both practical and theoretical. I Oh Soon Hwang and my brother Oh Soon Hwae who was the former general will be training you from now on. You will stay here all the time and only be allowed to go out once in a week. You will be respected by the people here so don't do anything stupid and never cause any kind of problem. Do you all understand?"

"Yes, Sir." answer the Hwarangs together.
