Chapter 17: I'm Just Going To Go

An awkward silence befell the room.

Both of us had no idea what to say.

One young child while the other was an old man.

"Sooooooooooo, may I hand in my report?" I asked the guildmaster.

"You may."

After I got the ok, I told him the story excluding the parts about the arena.

It was a fairly normal report so I grabbed my prize and left.

This was the moment I was waiting for!

Finally, I could have a decent meal.

Running as fast as I could, I rushed into the closest tavern.

Checking the menu to see what I could afford, I chose a fairly decent meal.

Sitting down and eating it, I looked around at the other people.

Seemed like most people here were also adventurers.

"Can I sit here?"

A hooded figure came out of nowhere.

"Uh sure?" I responded.

The man sat down and ordered the cheapest meal on the menu.

I was confused.

The cheapest thing on the menu was even worse than the things I ate when I was I thief.

Feeling disgusted, I ordered some more decent food for him.

He looked at me gratefully and wolfed it down.

Soon after, I finished and left the tavern.

What I didn't notice was that the man I treated to food was gone.
