Like kids

"Liam!" I heard someone shout.

When I turned towards the voice, I caught a glimpse of a chubby blond-haired boy with black eyes, accompanied by two burly boys who seemed to be twins.

It was Leo, the bully who tormented Anna and the son of the priest.

"I knew you were a heretic for associating with that orphan, but showing no respect towards the sacred ritual of Catoira, that's an offense I can't let slide," he said arrogantly.

Honestly, I had long stopped considering this world as fiction. Each person has a unique personality, and here I have truly been happy.

But when I see people like Leo, I start questioning it because he seems like the typical third-rate bully.

I glanced at my friends and realized Anna was trembling, while Peter had an extremely serious expression.

I got up from the ground, and Peter grabbed my arm.

"It's not worth it," he told me.

Pushing his hand away, I replied, "This was bound to happen someday."

It wasn't the first time he came looking for trouble, but I had been patient because we were still just 7-year-old kids.

Before approaching Leo, I whispered to Peter, "I think I can handle Leo and one of the twins. If they decide to start a fight, you take care of the third one."

Peter nodded, and without further ado, I went to confront Leo.

Just as we were face to face, I warned him:

"I'm in a good mood today, Leo, so I won't do anything if you decide to apologize to Anna."

"Ha ha ha, I'm not going to apologize to a cursed creature like her. Besides, do you think I'm afraid of you?"

"I warned you, don't blame me afterwards"

Without wasting any more time in useless chatter, I seized the momentum of my small body and delivered a sudden punch to his jaw.

Since Leo wasn't expecting the attack, the punch landed, and he fell to the ground. The confused twins exchanged glances and decided to pounce on me.

One attempted to strike me from the right side, while the other tried to kick me in the ribs. Swiftly, I dodged backward.

"Tsk, this won't be easy," I thought.

Because we had been instructed in martial arts since the age of 5, everyone knew how to fight, making it more challenging for me to teach Leo a lesson.

Lost in my thoughts, I failed to notice that one of the twins had already recovered and was about to land a blow to my face. Just as I had prepared myself to take the hit, the dependable Peter appeared and tackled one of the twins.

"I've got your back, Liam," Peter said. "Now I just have to deal with this one," I thought.

The two of us assumed fighting stances. I decided to start with a kick to this kid's shin.

Since he didn't have as much battle experience as I did, he couldn't dodge it and lost his balance.

Just as I was about to knock him out with an elbow strike, I felt a strong blow to my nose.

Thanks to my sharp reflexes, I managed to escape before sustaining further damage.

Touching my nose, I noticed it was bleeding slightly.

"So, it was all bragging, huh, Liam?" Leo taunted.

"Damn, this has gotten complicated," I muttered.

Peter was occupied, so I couldn't rely on his help.

But suddenly, an unexpected figure appeared.

It was none other than Anna.

"I'll help you, Liam," she said with determination.

"Hahaha, this situation is getting more and more amusing," Leo laughed.

I lunged directly at Leo, but he was already prepared. Utilizing his larger body to his advantage, Leo waited for me to try to knock him down.

I couldn't react in time, and Leo managed to get on top of me.

He started raining down a torrent of punches that I could barely block.

Seeing that one of his legs was within my reach, I exclaimed, "Bingo!"

Just as I saw Leo's elbow approaching me, I seized the opportunity to destabilize his stance and deliver a powerful blow to the thigh of his right leg.

Leo let out a scream of pain.

Dazed from the blow, he couldn't react to my elbow strike aimed at his face.

After taking the hit directly, he fell to the ground again, but this time, I kneeled him in the face to make sure he wouldn't move anymore.

With Leo dealt with, I immediately went to help my friends.

I found Peter resting on the ground while his opponent lay with a swollen eye.

I quickly turned to assist Anna, but I was taken aback by what I saw.

Anna had immobilized her opponent on the ground, tightening her grip around his neck to render him unconscious.

Although she had already injured him, it was still incredible how Anna, who didn't have as much strength as him, had defeated him so easily.

When her enemy stopped moving, Anna approached me.

"Was it liberating?" I asked her.

"Yes, very much so," she replied with a smile.

Seeing how she left the twin, I advised her:

"You should have more confidence in yourself. You have many abilities."

A slight blush formed on her beautiful face.

"I can see you're having fun. We should do this more often" Peter intervened.

"I don't think our bones can handle so many blows," I joked.

Just as the atmosphere was calming down, we heard a chilling laughter behind us.

It was Leo, struggling to stay on his feet, who pulled out a golden medallion with the pentagram of the church inscribed on it from his pocket.

Then, with the blood flowing from his head, he smeared it across the medallion and looked at us with a triumphant smile.

""Oh, Odin, let your unquestionable light fall upon these unbelievers and punish them for attempting to resist your divine will."" we heard him mutter.

Suddenly, the medallion started to glow, and a light enveloped all of us.
