In the office, Joseph Conrad, a plump, bald man about fifty years of age sat in front of the desk.
He faced a young girl who looked incredibly nervous.
The girl was about twenty–one or twenty–two years of age. She had delicate facial features and looked very
meek. She wore large, black–rimmed glasses that hid her beautiful looks.
She was quite petite and dressed plainly, but it did little to hide her natural beauty.
The girl was called Lily Cameron. She was one of the three secretaries of the president. her rank was the same as
Leon's. She was the secretary of daily affairs, while Leon
was the administrative secretary.
Other than that, the president's secretaries had two direct
superiors. The first was the president, while the second
was the head of the president's office.
"Miss Cameron, you've already been in the company for
over a month. You have been quite decent in terms of the quality of your work, but you still don't react quickly enough to anything that happens. I'm still very unhappy with your performance. How do you think we should address that?" Joseph narrowed his eyes as his eyes shone with ill intentions.
Lily was incredibly frightened. She hurriedly lowered her head, "Mister Conard, I'll work harder in the future. Please give me another chance."

"It's not like I can't give you another chance, but it depends on how Lily and grabbed Lily's white and delicate hands, running his hand up her arm.
"W–what are you doing?!" Lily was shocked as she pulled her hand back, pushing Joseph's claws away.
"Miss Cameron, there are certain rules when it comes to the workplace. I trust you get what I'm saying!" Joseph coldly snorted, expressing his displeasure.
"What rules?" Lily was shocked.
Seeing her confused reaction, Joseph could not be
bothered putting up pretenses. He touched Lily's chin
and smiled, "Let me be more straightforward. You're very pretty, and I like you!
"As long as you're willing to accompany me one time, I won't just give you a chance, I'll even make sure you immediately pass your probation!"
Lily's face paled, immediately understanding what happened.
"Mister Conrad, I'm sorry. I'm not someone like that. You're looking for the wrong person…" Lily looked like an incredibly scared bunny. She turned around and
immediately tried to run.
Joseph was incredibly calm as he said to Lily's retreating back, "You'd better think about it!
"The moment you dare to leave this office, you can say goodbye to your job. Pack up your things and leave
immediately!"
Lily immediately stopped. She was deeply affected by those words.
She just graduated from Springfield University, and only worked little over a month. She did not even pass her probation yet.
If Joseph wanted to fire her, it would be incredibly easy!
Joseph was experienced with these things, he would naturally not let such a good chance slip. He hurried over to Lily and reached out to her.
"Miss Cameron, I know that your mother is currently in the hospital. well! If you lose this job, you should know better than I do what will happen!"
Lily's mind immediately went blank at those words.
What Joseph said assaulted all her weak points.
Her father left the family and disappeared when she was
young. It was her mother who worked incredibly hard to
raise her and her brother. Thankfully, a lot of her
relatives helped them, which was how she managed to get into university.
Yet, her mother worked too hard and ended up in the
hospital. Her brother just managed to get into university as well, so her brother needed quite a lot of money for schooling fees and daily expenses.
All of the family's expenses fell on her shoulders.
At the same time, she carried the hopes and dreams of a lot of her relatives.
Thankfully, she found a good job right after she graduated. She became the president's secretary in the Elegante Group
Even if the director's secretary did not hold much power, it was still a position with a lucrative salary. Even while she was on probation, her salary was still over a thousand.
As long as she passed her probation, her salary would easily go much higher.
Furthermore, the president's secretary was able to
interact with the president regularly. As long as she – worked hard and earned the president's favor, she would
get promotions and higher salaries. Her future would be bright!
The job affected her future, her mother's medical bills, and her brother's studies!
If she lost her job, everything would be ruined!
The consequences were not something she could bear!
