Chapter 6 - Grimoire

"Master Lucian when can you start healing the residents?" Laxlow asked.

Lucian instantly responded saying. "I currently feel very much out energy and would need to rejuvenate myself by meditation. Is it possible you could find a quiet room for me?"

Laxlow replied. "It is possible, and I understand. Is there anything that you want me to do in the meantime?"

Lucian thought for a moment before he said. "Give as much support you can to the family of the deceased whether it is in the form of consolidation or financially. Also, gather all those injured in the centre of town in about three hours. "

The giant man nodded and sent for one of his knights to take him to a quiet room. When seeing the knight refer to him respectfully as the lord and look at him with admiration Lucian smiled. Choosing to become the leader of the town wasn't something that he decided on the spur of the moment. Actually, a series of circumstances brought to accept the role.

The admiration the Knight garrison had for him was a major one as they saw him help them kill the monsters. Having the knights already respectful to him all he needed now was to have the respect of the people and what better way was there than healing them and helping them in the time of their greatest need.

Of course, the main reason that Lucian chose to help the town was that of the resources that he would get out of it. The abandoned lands may not have that many resources however it still had enough to help someone such as Laxlow become an official mage. Compared to hunting every day for the past three years and looking for energy sources in the Malfor Forest it was much better for him to rely on the help of an entire town to help him advance in magic.

After walking for about ten minutes, Lucian had reached a small cottage that was empty and quiet. He looked at the knight indicating him to leave while also respectfully thanking him.

The cottage was simple in design with it only having one room inside and a mattress lying on the floor. It would generally have been the perfect place for meditation. However, Lucian was not here to meditate as he cast Void Bridge.

"I ask advice from the supreme will of the world. Heed my call and obey my commands, space and time." Lucian disappeared from the spot he was standing in and appeared in front of a door. A door that he was very much familiar with. Opening the door, he entered the broken down hall and walked towards the sleeping area of the Old Man slowly.

It seemed that the Old Man was already awake as his voice could be heard saying. "Lucian it seems a bit too early to visit me, does it not?"

"Old Man, you knew what was going on in the town and never intervened. If you did, you could have helpe-"

Lucian's speaking was interrupted by a loud snort. So loud that it even hurt his ears. "Boy, I've known you for the better half of your life so don't act as if you care." His voice was full of irritation as he continued. "Spare me the good hero talk and tell me the true reason you came here for."

Lucian smiled upon hearing this and said. "I need you to teach- no to impart a powerful healing spell that would be able to cure all injuries."

The old man laughed saying. "No such healing spell in the world can cure everything. However, I do know that can cure most injuries, and for all the injuries the people in this town have got."

Lucian scoffed as he said. "So you do know what I intend to do?"

The Old Man looked at Lucian as he said. "Of course I do, and I also know that the Gateway of Hell was caused because of your stupidity. "With a serious look on his face, the Old Man continued. "How many times did I tell you not to use that spell if you haven't mastered it. You are lucky the consequence was merely a Low-level demon of hell invading the town. Next time you wouldn't be as lucky."

"Don't worry I will make sure I Master the spell and don't use it until It is fully mastered." Lucian Replied.

"Huh, I see that you are still not getting my point." The old man sighed as he continues. "Come here so I can impart the spell to you."

Lucian went towards the Old Man who had his hand enveloped in a golden light. He pressed the hand on his forehead when a stream of information entered Lucian's mind. The information was about a Grimoire called The Truth. This Grimoire was not a healing one but rather one filled with thousands of other spells that included healing spells. The information had put Lucian's mind in a state of panic as a headache struck him.

After Lucian had calmed down he looked towards the Old Man and said."What is going on?"

The Old Man was quick to reply as he said "That Grimoire has every single spell that I know of and have created. For reasons you do not need to know I will be leaving this town."

Lucian was baffled as to why he was leaving, but he did not question him only saying. "I will be forever grateful of what you have done for me over the years."

The Old Man stood up he looked at Lucian and said. "And so am I kid, I am sure we will meet again." And after his last words to Lucian, the Old Man had disappeared from where he stood.
