He looked out the window. The darkness had superseded the whole street except for the intrusion of the illuminating streetlights.
Activities have been put to a halt for the day... most of them anyway. Only the bright distinct flickering LED light from somewhere not too faraway indicated that Scorpico — one of the two mini bars of Broadway — was still opened amongst others.
He clearly enjoyed the view of the nighttime and he wished he could step out for a walk but he knew better not to think of such absurdity. Outside was certainly not much of a safe haven at this time.
It was about an hour left before the midnight clock ticked. Fifty-five at most. The chill of the night from months before was no more so he could very well take in light clothing as he deemed fit.
He suddenly felt a gust of wind flash into the room via the slightly open window, harboring a strange energy. Instantly he shut the window close, drawing the curtains back before turning around.
