Though she still couldn't reveal the full extent of her fears, Elara found solace in Damian's acceptance. With a nod, she allowed herself to lean into his touch, drawing strength from his presence. With a shock, she took a step back from Damian. Pretending the moment didn't occur at all.

As the day wore on, and with Damian's assistance, Elara gathered most of her supplies. Some items were borrowed, others crafted anew with a sense of urgency that left her fingers aching and her magic depleted. By nightfall, the storage room was in order, and her satchel was packed, each item carefully chosen and prepared.

Yet, as she stood there, looking at the fruits of her labor, Elara couldn't shake the feeling of unease.
