Chapter 3: Finding out who I really am

I went back to the ballroom with Liam. People continued to congratulate us and we had to mingle with some people which was about an hour. Then Finally the ball was done.

"Ah finally the ball is done Liam." "Haha you'll get used to it don't worry." "Hey I am a princess you know. I have been to many balls. They just take forever. Especially when I was younger, they seemed like forever." "Yeah, they do but they eventually end and you can relax later." "Well yeah like now." "Tell mom and dad I'm going to bed, ok?" "Sure." He helped me to my room and laid me down. "Thanks Liam." Then we gave each other a good kiss and hug and he left the room to tell my parents I was going to bed.

A few days later it was time for me to get ready to go to Liam's Palace. He is a Fire Elf. I am a Forest Elf. This is going to be really interesting. "My maid has my stuff ready. Now what?" I said to Liam. "Now we tell your family goodbye and head over." So, we left to find father mother, and my little brothers.

We finally found them and I said, "Before I leave father and mother. I need to talk to you both privately." "Ok dear. Maxwell, can you watch the kids?" "Yes, your majesty."

"Sorry. Let me get to straight to it. This necklace I always wear. Did I have it on when you found me? Did I have anything on me that was jewelry or that I can try to figure out who I am with?" "Yes that necklace you wear was on you when we found you. You looked to be royalty yourself. Weather you were one or not we still took you in. We didn't care who you were. You were a scared child." Said mom. "Oh and there was a note we also found in the clothes you were wearing back then. Hang on." Father went inside his desk drawer and gave me the letter. I opened it up and read it silently. The note said,

My dearest Rhylie,

I am sorry to have to leave this world when you are still so young. Don't go back to the palace you were from. Its dangerous. We are from the flower palace. Please I don't want you to get hurt. Your father was killed by an evil witch. I just barely made it here. I hope someday you can meet a man you love and have kids of your own someday. I am just sorry I won't be able to see them. I am sorry but I don't have much time. I love you my baby girl. That necklace you wear is special. Don't loose it. If you focus your energy, it can also be a way to communicate. Also, your fathers last words are on there as well. Ok I really have to go I'm losing time. "You have a brother and sister. There names are Sage and Lily. You will recognize them. Your sister looks like you and your brother has green hair and pink eyes. They both have the necklace with the same stone. I love you so much I have to go now. Be safe and survive. We both loved you so much.

I closed the letter back up and said, "Father, Mother, have you read the letter?" "Yes, we have when we found you. We haven't seen anyone that looked like them at all." "I sighed. OK Well thank you both very much. I have to go. I will miss you both." "We will miss you too." Said mom.

Then I went out and saw my brothers. I went over to say goodbye to them. I gave them a hug and said, "I love you boys very much. No matter what I will always be your sister. No matter what happens. I love you boys to death." "Sister are you ok?" said Leo. "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just going to miss you boys when I leave. I know its only a few days and I'm coming back but still." Then they hugged her again. "We will miss you too big sis." Said Tyson. I dried my tears and I waved goodbye and we left.

We were in a carriage on the way to the fire palace. "Liam? If you were ever found and taken in, would you want to know who your parents and siblings were if you had any?" "Hmm. Well. I would be curious. I'm sure in the future I would want to know. Why? Are you ok?" "Yeah, I'm fine." I sighed. "Oh, I forgot I want to show you something Liam. My father found a letter on me from when they found me. Also, this necklace was on me when they found me. I want you to read the letter." "Yes of course I will." I gave him the letter and he read it silently to himself.

"I thought so." Said Liam. "What? Is there something wrong?" "No not really. I just figured you were the girl that survived. You don't have to search for your siblings. They are residence in the village. As of right now they are guests in the palace." "Does it change the way you feel about me? I hope not." "Oh Rhylie. No matter who you are. Nothing is going to change the way I feel about you. I love you." He held my hand and squeezed it. "Thank you. I love you too." I said in tears. Then we snuggled the rest of the way to the palace.

"OK here we are Rhylie." Said Liam. "Oh wow! Its beautiful." I said. "Yeah it is. Shall we my lady?" "Why yes kind sir." We joked. Then we headed for the palace.

"Here is the door." Said Liam. He pushed the door open and we were already in the throne room where the king and queen were. Liam bowed and I curtsied. "Greetings your majesties." We both said. "Both Rise." We did as we were told and I was a little nervous as to what is going to happen next. Liam noticed and he squeezed my hand to help.

"Father, Step-Mother, this is Princess Rhylie. The girl I have been telling you about." "Hello your Majesty. Pleasure to meet you." I said as I curtsied. "Yes, she is a beauty. Princess how do you like our palace so far?" "Well, I thought it was very beautiful when I first saw it. I was surprised we got straight to the throne room when entering. At my palace we have stairs before the throne room." "Yes, that is what most people say." Then the queen spoke. "I assume we have some guests here at the moment that you would want to see." She looked at the king. "Liam show her to the parlor. They should be there at the moment. You are dismissed." So we walked to the parlor.

"I'm so nervous." I said. "Its ok Rhylie. You're going to be fine. I'm right here. I won't go anywhere." "Ok." I pushed the door open and saw two people waiting on the parlor couch. "H-Hello." I said nervously. "Oh my gosh. Sister you're ok!" said sage. (9 years older than Rhylie.) Then my sister Lily came by as well. (8 years older than Rhylie.) "We missed you so much. We have looked all around the forest but never found you." Said Lily. "We heard you were alive and went searching for you." "Really? You went looking for me?" "Yes, we did. You are our sister. Of course, we would look for you." I started crying tears of joy. "Thank you so much Liam." I went over and hugged him. "Its ok Rhylie. You're going to be ok just like I said." I went back to the couch where they were. "So, I got a letter from mom saying that you two were still alive and about these necklaces. Here is the letter." I handed my brother Sage the letter and he read it silently. "Oh mom. I miss you so much. Thank you Rhylie. Thank you for surviving." "Yeah sure. I was thanks to the king and queen of the forest that I survived. When mom died I got lost and two people came over to me. I was scared at first. Then the queen asked me my name and they took me in." "We will have to thank them." Said Lily. "Have you both heard dad's message yet?" "No we haven't figured out how to do it yet." Said Sage. "I just found out about it so I haven't tried. Oh I have something to tell you both. I can talk to animals, heal, and make stuff happen when I sing?" "Really?" Said Lily. "Yeah really." "I can't do it in the forest because of Nina and her Pegasus twilight. If its ok with the king and queen I can. I like to sing outside to be safe though. I have a unicorn at home named Sparkles I had to heal her because she got shot by Nina's mom trying to protect me. No that long ago I got shot too but I'm fine now." "That's good Rhylie." "Oh after I found you both I wanted to ask you something. What happened in the palace? Who killed dad and the others?" "You don't remember Rhylie?" said Sage. "Why? Should I?" "Sage I don't think it's the right time to tell her." "She needs to know what happened." "OK but just to be safe lets take her outside." "Ok sure. May I Liam?" "Yes I'm coming."

We went outside in an open field and Sage said, "Rhylie. You have a special power that you have had since you were 3 before mom tried to get you somewhere safe. You got really upset about something." "Don't tell me I'm the one that killed father and mother?" "Don't worry you weren't. It's what is happening in the palace now that you did." "What did I do?" "Its not your fault you couldn't control yourself." "Did I kill people?" "You know what? I know mother told you to stay away from the palace, but maybe after your time here I can show you. If that's ok with Liam that is." "As long as she stays close to us and nothing happens to her." "Yes deal." "Thank you sage and Lily. Oh by the way me an Liam are engaged." I said. "Yes we heard. Mom would be so proud of you. Congrats sister." Said sage. "Yes Congratulations sister." Said Lily. "What about you two? Got anyone yourselves?" "Yes we both have kids and I have a wife." Said sage. "I have a wonderful husband and kids as well." "Can we got to the village and see them Liam Please?" "Lets go tell father and we have to dress in commoner clothes."

My brother and sister went out and waited for us to get ready. "Ok lets go we're ready." I said. "Ok where are we going first?" I asked. "Hmm. Lily want to go to your house first? Yours are still pretty young." "Yeah sure lets go to my house first." So we headed to sister Lilies house.

We were about there when I stopped. "What is it Rhylie?" Said Liam. "I don't know. I feel an odd presence. I don't know if its good or bad." I looked around. "All of you get in the house right now! Protect the babies!" I jumped on the roof of one of the houses and went after the strange person. "Dammit! I told her to stay close to us." Said Liam. "If she's anything like us she will be fine. She will only do what she wants." Said Sage.

"Hey you! Who are you!" "Leave me alone would you?" "No not until I know who you are." I said. He was a hooded man jumping from roof to roof trying to escape. "I have a feeling from your attitude I know you from somewhere. I will never forget it even if I was younger. I just don't know your name." "Oh for spirits sake. You will find out soon enough." I tried to get closer to him but he shot me with an arrow. Luckily it wasn't poisoned. 'I have to hurry back or I'm not going to survive this arrow.' I said to myself. I jumped from roof to roof until I got to my sisters and jumped off. I fell to the ground in pain. I didn't scream but I groaned. Someone must have hurt me because Liam came out. "Rhylie! Hang on. I'll get you help!" said Liam. "Wait a minute." Said Sage. "I might be able to help. Rhylie. Is the arrow poisoned?" "No, I don't think so. He did it for me to leave him alone. I may have been 3 but I won't forget his attitude. He was hooded in a dark blue cape. He said I will find out soon enough who he was. Ow this hurts can you get it out of me now. I'm bleeding to death here." "Yeah, I will help you hang on." Sage took the arrow out of my shoulder and healed it. "Damn! That hurt." I said. "Sorry better fast then slow right?" "Yeah whatever. So, I take it you know who the man is?" "Yeah, we have a pretty good idea. We thought he was killed but he made it out. Like he said you will find out soon enough. If its who I think it is, he will be at the gathering when you two get introduced. He works with the palace wizard." "I see that explains so much." I said. "Not." "So, when is this going to happen Liam?" I asked. "Oh, it's going to happen tomorrow night. Don't worry it's not a ball more of like a meeting with certain people." "Oh, thank the spirits. Ball's are tiring."

"Oh, I forgot to ask you both were you raised by people in the village?" "Yes, a lovely couple took us in. They both died though." Said Sage. "Oh I'm sorry. Hey when I marry Liam I will be living at the palace. I hope I will see you guys a little more." "Yeah, we hope so." Said Lily. "Oh Liam can we go for a walk in the garden with my brother and sister? I want to sing a song." "Sure. Do you two mind?" "Sure we will join you. Let me go tell my husband."

"OK then after I hear your song I have to head home." Said Lily. "Ok sounds good." I said. We finally made it to the garden in the sitting space. I stood and the 3 sat. "Hmm. What song shall I sing. Oh I know. It's a song when I was younger, I heard. Liam had his trumpet with him and he played along with her.
