Chapter 2: Im A What?!?

' Well nice to meet you kid '

' Y-yeah y-you too... ' I said with with a low and unsure voice

I turned to face satoshi and asked on where we currently are. His face turned neutral to confused

' Wait you dont know where we are? '

' Its not like i would ask if i know ' i said with a sarcastic tone

' Well, this place is called "Death Triangle", an island full of dangerous creatures. What are you doing in a place like this with no equipments? '

' I got washed ashore here, i jumped off a cliff Trying to escape those people in armor and the water current took me here ' i replied.

I noticed his face changing looks as if something i said sparked his interest. He quickly ran up to me and grabbed me by the arm

' People in armor? Did you see what color their armbands are? ' He said in a hurried manner.

I got confused with his question but i still tried to recall what color i saw. Then i suddenly remember, it was red.

' Red, the color is red ' i said. His eyes widen accompanied by a shocked

( What are templar knights doing out there...)

satoshi whispers. Then he lets go of my arm.

' Sorry for acting like that. Anyways, Where is your family? ' he said

' G-gone... '

' What do you mean by gone? Dead or missing? '

' Dead... '

' Oh.. I'm sorry to hear that kid '

* Suddenly my stomach started to rumble and Satoshi heard it* . He laughed and I got embarrassed.

' You hungry huh?' He said as he reached inside his bag and tossed a bread to me. ' Eat up '

*Catches it and looks at him*

' really? '

' Yeah kid go ahead and eat up, i have plenty more so dont worrry '

With the bread he gave me i finally tamed my growling stomach. Satoshi then suddenly asked me a question, he asked me what happened to my parents and i told him everything that has led me up to here. His eyes widened when i mentioned that the guys in armor are the ones who killed my parents.

( They're the ones who killed his parents? Why would a they..no-n..no don't tell me this kid is also a... )

'Hey are you okay? Satoshi?'

*Satoshi then snaps out of it and turned to face Zalan*

' ah yeah? Sorry i was in deep thoughts '

' is there something wrong i said? '

' no, not at all ' he said, but i couldn't shake the feeling that he is hiding something from me '

' Say Zalan, wanna tag along? Staying here is not a good idea '

I paused for a moment but since i had no other choice i decided to accept his offer

' Yeah sure, where are we going? '

' Kingdom of Sorable, its the safest place i know since the templar knights are still looking for you . But lets sleep for now '

After that conversation we headed to bed. The stone floor or the cave is not pleasant to sleep on but i had to other choice. As i drift asleep, i was in a white empty space with a figure standing in front of me though i couldn't tell if its a man or woman since my vision is all blurry, then it speaked and i remember that i heard this voice before, it was the angelic voice from the last dream

' Quickly reach out to my hand, please ' it seems to be panicking but before i could reach out to it darkness, started filling the white void and i woke up to see Satoshi waiting patiently for me to wake up

' You're finally awake, should we get going now? '

' Yeah, lets go'

We packed some things up then left for the kingdom of Sorable. Satoshi also handed be a spare blade to use , it was rusty but its better than nothing. As we walk for hours my feet grew tired which is due to the fact that im not a fit person and Satoshi noticed that so he decided we should take a break for now and continue tomorrow.

' Are you sure? We can still keep going, i think i could go for another mile ' i said but he shakes his head and tells me - ' Absolutely not, with you legs shaking like a little girl getting cornered by a rabid dog your not lasting for another mile besides, we are pretty close to our destination so we dont need to rush ' After that i finally agreed and we started to set camp in an open area

' I'll get some sticks for the bonfire while you stay here and set the tent okay? ' Satoshi said to me and i nodded. While setting up the tent, i couldn't help but feel as if i was being watched by something, so with all the courage i have, i looked towards the direction that i thought i was being watched from and i was correct, a large bear was staring at me as if i was its prey, i quickly drew out my sword ready to protect myself. Then it suddenly charged towards me

( Too quick! Too heavy! ) I thought to myself as i try to parry the bear's slash. But my movements become slower and slower while its attack become heavier and harder to block. Then eventually the sword Satoshi broke resulting in my stomach getting slashed open by the bear's attack, my body collapsing to the floor.

( I going to die because of a bear? What a lame death... I couldn't even get revenge for parents... No! it can en-end l-li-like thi...s....)

My vision turned to black but before i could pass out i heard i voice like...

Something like that but anyways, i eventually woke up and was confused why i havent died yet. Then i slowly open my eyes to a unfamiliar ceiling. I sat up to Look around my surrounding and it was a room white as pearls and decorated with gold, i was there at a soft bed and i felt like a noble waking up. Then, Satoshi along with another man with a unfamiliar face opened the door to the room. Both of them greeted me a goodmorning and went up to me

' Zalan i want you to meet someone '

Satoshi said as he points to the guy with a blonde hair and noble like look.

' Hello Zalan, Satoshi already told me about you. My name is Adrian Albrecht, Nice to meet you. '

' Nice to meet you too ' i replied. But then, I noticed that Adrian and Satoshi's face turned serious. Then Adrian speaks ' Zalan, the truth is... We believe your not human... Zalan.... Your a Curse '

I didn't understand what he just told me but i can only form three words out of my mouth...

' Im A What?!? '
