"Where is she?!"

Cold and hard, the voice springs across the palace walls and bangs on my ear drums.

"She can't have gone far."

"The girl attempted to kidnap the prince. Goodness knows what she's capable of."

"Enough!" My yell seems to send shock through the room, leaving in its path the sweet silence. "You lot are mental! She escaped! But for heavens sake, she's one person against literally one thousand guards."

But as always, the girl is always ignored. The men continue to fret about. They don't notice me slip out of the room. I rub my temples, exhausted with the nights events. I continue to walk, drifting into the endless voids of my thoughts. Bam! I walk straight into a small, mousy girl, knocking her straight to the ground. I offer her a hand and she takes it. Her crop of brown hair just touches her shoulders and her freckles bring out the blue of her eyes and her pale skin.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to bump you your highness." She fixes her gold rimmed glasses and shakes my hand, "I'm Riana, your new advisor. After the unfortunate mishap at the coronation they decided a more feminine touch would be good for you."

She tilts her head, "I will not fail you, master."
