"Rascal! I want a piece!"

"Me too!"

"I want blood!"

"Human blood is delicious!"

A string of voices immediately sounded, coming from the direction of the snakes. Obviously, these words are spoken by different people - no, snakes. Cayden noticed five snakes glaring at each other while chewing something in its mouth.

So each snake can speak? Cayden snickered.

This creature is interesting.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Pete's anxious face. Cayden can't risk letting the Alpha Beast Snake realized that Pete and him knew each other. So he place his index finger on his chest.

It's like a salute but instead of a fist, the index finger is stretched out, pointing outside. Cayden remembered Pete loved to use this gesture as a sign that he got everything taken care of. That everything is alright and Cayden has nothing to worry about.

Pete knew what this sign meant, he also understood that Cayden want to tell him to not worry. At least, he should not let it exposed to the Alpha Beast Snake that he and Cayden knew each other. Or else it will be both of them who will be targeted.

Pete has a good eye. And he has been observing the Alpha Beast Snake's reaction to every question answered. The only time he showed a very displeased look is when Cayden answered the question in the second round.

Now he was being picked out in the third round.

The first move of the champion is to stretch the length of the snakes and have them bit at Cayden's arm. His second move is to attack. In a flash, he reached Cayden and the two stared at each other.

In a split second, there was a loud slap. Because of the second level battle mode, Cayden and the champion are not trapped inside the square. But Cayden was thrown ten meters away due to the incredible strength used in that one slap. The other challengers were scared out of their wits and frantically moved to the side, afraid to be caught in the middle of the battle.

Pete could no longer control himself and pounded his fists on the wall of the squares. But no matter how much slamming he do, he could not get out. He was anxious. The others were also anxious and afraid. Especially when all of them heard Cayden's bones broke into multiple fractures just from that instant hit alone.

The boy has a very frail body! No matter how much he persisted, he will surely die.

The man with snakes as head is standing solemnly. The chatter noises of the snakes died down. At first, no one took notice of the snakes on his head. Because the challengers are all worried about Cayden.

However, the man's torso were immediately soaked in bright green blood. The acidity coming from it caused the man's skin to burn and smoke appeared out of it.

"W - what happened?" The Alpha Snake Beast was surprised.

Cayden, who was sprawled on the ground, let out a small groan before he sluggishly stood up. His left arm was twisted at an unnatural angle. A huge chunk of his skin was swelling. It was the part where the small snakes just bit earlier.

On a closer look, one will realize that he was poisoned. It was obvious at a glance that Cayden is just a step away from the door's death. When he approached the man, he was also limping. Not only was his left arm twisted and poisoned, his left rib and left leg also have their bones broken.

Yet, what catches everyone's attention is the dagger on Cayden's right arm. That dagger is eight inches long with bright green blood dripping on it. The same green liquid that oozes from the man's snakes.

Cayden stopped limping as he stood face to face with the man. He raised his dagger and struck at his heart. The dagger wasn't buried deep. However, it seems the dagger contain some kind of poison as the heart where the dagger was struck turned black.

The blackened skin rapidly spread until the whole body of the man collapsed in a heap of black debris.

Seeing this, the Alpha Snake Beast frowned. "Where did you get that dagger? Another reward from a hunter?"

Cayden did not respond. He did not even look at the Alpha Beast Snake. He first scraped the blood of the man through his pants that got left behind before he used the tip to cut open his swelling left arm.

"I ask you a question, human." The Alpha Snake Beast asked coldly.

At this point, the skin where Cayden just cut has a greenish black fluid oozing out. It dripped on the ground and bubbled with a hiss.

This is the poison from the small snakes. And Cayden just extracted it out using the dagger. Disregarding all pain, Cayden expressionlessly ripped a portion of his pants and used it to bandage his left arm.

After doing this, Cayden confronted the Alpha Beast Snake.

"After I was bitten, that dagger appeared in my pocket. The prompt screen inform me this dagger is originally the reward that will be given to me. But, even though the reward square became a battle square, it still give me the dagger as reward. You are supposed to be the BOSS of this game, how come you do not know that?"

Cayden's words don't contain any emotion. But to the Alpha Snake Beast's ears, those words were spoken to mocked him!

Ha! This brazen human! Daring to kill one of his well - trained pets?!

The Alpha Beast Snake did not answer Cayden, instead, he checked the system screen of the game and confirmed that Cayden did not lie.

The game actually give him the reward that was originally to be given to whoever landed this square. But since the Alpha Beast Snake changed the reward square into a battle one, how come it still provided Cayden the dagger?
