Chapter 20: Let's Go to Paradise

"Birdy?" Alex called out softly, as she knocked on Birdy's door. "Can I come in?"

"Sure," Birdy called out as she sat up on the bed and put her sketchpad beside her, waiting patiently for Alex to come in. Alex had recovered a few days ago but there was still no discussion about the kiss and Birdy hadn't mentioned moving.

"So, this is kind of last minute," Alex said slowly with an embarrassed smile. "Feel free to say no. The girls and I are going on a trip and I thought you might like to come, you can meet Vero too."

Birdy felt surprised but happy that Alex had asked her. Frustratingly enough, Alex had been acting like nothing had happened between them, just like the last time. It had left Birdy in a difficult position where she didn't know what the right thing to do was. The fact Alex had asked her to go on a trip with her friends was unexpected and kind of confusing.
