Chapter 16: Personal Style
Birdy straightened the imaginary wrinkles out of her dress as she stood outside. She was in front of the large luxury clothing store where she was meeting her newest client. She had received a call that morning asking her if she was available for a last-minute meeting and she'd jumped at the chance. With Alex, Kit, Luca and Gemma, she had started to build a nice little roster of steady clientele and she hoped it would continue.
She bit her lip nervously before taking a breath, steeling her nerves, and walking into the store. Birdy felt herself shrink a little as one of the store clerks and the security guard looked pointedly at her combat boots. Averting her eyes from theirs, Birdy focused on looking around the store for the model she was here to meet.
"Birdy?" a heavily accented voice asked as someone tapped on Birdy's shoulder.
