The night was a long one for Elysia, she could not stop thinking of her trip to the market and everything she had seen there, the children running around, the laughter of happy couples.
Throughout her stay in the palace, she had never had this strong desire to want something more and different. To be able to walk around freely without being watched by guards who had better things to do, and given the respect of a noble when she isn't one.
She did not want to be a Lady with manners and etiquette. She wanted to be just Elysia, who could cook and dance in the rain when she wanted to.
She dressed quickly and headed to the writing room to discuss with the one person who would understand her plight. Elysia paced the room, her heart pounding as she thought of how to say what was in her mind. Miss Rebecca, her governess, sat quietly, her sharp eyes watching her every move, sensing that something was brewing within Elysia's mind.
