CHAPTER 84: THREE MUSKETEERS

A cold, wicked, and oppressive aura came pressing down on everyone in the clearing switching their attention toward the new threats.

"...Hmmm…!" Houryu faced the direction from which the ferocious aura was coming. Coming in their direction were three identical-looking men who wore matching robes and held identical staffs as well.

Yuhao and his group turned towards the direction of the new threat as well and quickly got on guard as well as the men suddenly appeared right in front of them at breakneck speed, that it almost seemed like they teleported.

'...! So quick!' Yuhao thought as the men appeared in front of them.

The men began looking around the scene with surprise at this scene, especially as there didn't seem to be any trace of what had caused this,

"What even happened here?" One of the three men thought aloud as he looked around but later took his mind off the scene around him as what caused it didn't seem to be nearby. He turned to Yuhao and his group, along with Yuhao who was also close by,

"Who are you guys? Where are you from?" He asked bluntly with a wicked smile appearing on his face as he looked at the "fresh meat" that was in front of him.

"We're from Yue Hua Zong of the Heavenly Soul Empire." Teacher Cai Meier turned towards the new arrivals and answered, while keeping a wary eye on Houryu as well, hoping he wouldn't choose now to attack, but Houryu was just watching the situation unfold itself.

"... Do you know what spirit beast caused this scene?" The dark clothed man asked again while his companions stood by his side.

Li Yong Yue was about to open her mouth to say that it wasn't caused by a spirit beast, but she looked in Houryu's direction and her eyes connected with his blood-red eyes that were staring at her while slowly twirling, throwing her into a daze,

"Of course, we don't know what spirit beast caused such a scene, if we did, we'd probably be dead by now." Li Yong Yue said gravely but her eyes were in a bit of a daze, and while her sudden change of character shocked her companions, the dark-clothed men didn't notice anything odd about her answer.

"Hmmm… but even for you to make it this far into the depths of the Star Dou Forest at this young age. It seems like your cultivation isn't weak." The man said again after thinking for a while, with a wicked grin reappearing on his and his companions face.

"Unleash your spirit rings, we want to take a look." He said tyrannically as he eyed them like prey.

Seeing these new idiots eyeing him like he was prey, irritated Houryu, but he controlled himself and didn't react as he thought, 'did they follow the trail of battle here? If so, were there more guys coming here as well? Unfortunately, I don't know much about the soulland's storyline and only know the abilities and major characteristics of a few characters, so I'm basically grasping at straws here and plan to not make any rash moves unless I'm completely recovered to my full power.'

Luckily for him, Teacher Cai Meier wasn't willing to let the newcomers have their way, and while she did wonder about Li Yong's out-of-character statement and the fact that Houryu was currently not showing a reaction to the new threats, she did not have to wonder too much about those things as her main job here was to protect the students.

Cai Meier and the dark-clothed man charged at each other while unleashing their spiritual energies until their palms clashed, creating a huge shock wave that blasted away the winds and leaves around them.

"An 8-spirit ringed douluo. No wonder you can act so prideful, but it's to no avail. You can't win against the three of us." The man said as he stopped being pushed back by Cai Meier's spiritual energy.

'The spiritual energy she used just now… is nowhere as strong as what she was letting off when she wanted to fight me. She's hiding her power, this woman.' Houryu thought as he watched on.

"We were only hoping for a little favour from you. Whether you are willing, or not. You're still going to help us." He continued while beginning to let off his spiritual energy causing purple scales to begin to appear on his skin as he prepared to attack again.

Cai Meier thought for a while before agreeing to help them as she realized that while she could defeat the troublesome newcomers, they had 8th grade soul guidance devices, so it would be very difficult and she had to protect the students at the same time, so fighting right now was a no. Also, there was still Houryu to deal with as well, and while all he seemed to do right now was watch the situation as it progressed, he could suddenly decide to attack as well if she did end up fighting the new enemies.

The dark-clothed men laughed in delight as it seemed like they were at their mercy and so had given in to their request. They began to lead them forward, gradually going way deeper into the forest until they were a distance away from a very large cave.

"In that cave, there's a spirit beast… Follow us, then we will lure it out."

Sorry for the short chapter guys. I have tests coming up and exams by January so my schedule is swamped and irregular, I will continue posting new chapters as much as I can, but the schedule dates may end up terribly irregular, so I apologize ahead.
