I have seen better

Sasha once again checked her reflection in the floor-length mirror on her closet room,

A normal white buttoned shirt and black jeans paired with a mustard yellow knitted cardigan- is this enough to tone down her sharp features and appear like a soft and innocent girl?

"Nah," Sasha's mouth twitched at the sight of her glowing amber eyes.

No matter what she does, as long as she has this unique eye colour she will become the centre of attraction wherever she goes.

She let out a sigh and picked up a pair of ebony dark coloured lenses.

Sasha carefully wore the contact lenses and scanned herself in the mirror.

This geek-nerd chic look drastically differed from her usual laid back style.

Well, it was her first-ever client meeting and she had to dress up her part.

After contemplating for a night, Sasha finally decided to accept the offer to work for the cloud sphere.

For leading a life secluded from others, the freelance copy editing job might help her.

But to become free from the claws of the Reagan family as well as in pursuit of becoming financially independent, she must find a much more stable job. To become an editor in the cloud sphere is the best option she has now.

After wearing thick-framed glasses and her tote bag, Sasha stepped out of the penthouse in silence.

However, before heading towards the elevator, she gave a vague glance at the next door which remained closed.

Did her chatty neighbour move in?

The last time when she met the man who is going to be her neighbour, he gave off an outgoing and amiable vibe.

One look and anyone can say that he falls into the gentlest gentleman category.

He will probably have a good bunch of friends for whom he would love to organise a house warming party.

As his only neighbour, he will surely invite her over and once again, Sasha will be put into an awkward situation once again.

Another set of embarrassing memories will be created for her.

As she rode the elevator to the downstairs, Sasha frets on hypothetical scenarios which she created in her head about her neighbour.

"Good morning, Miss Reagan," George Jefferson who stays two floors lower than greeted her as he stepped into the elevator,

She replied with a faint smile as she moved to a corner in the elevator.

"Miss, are you going somewhere?" Jefferson tried to initiate a conversation.

"Yes. I am going for work,"

"You have started to work? Wow, that's a piece of great news," He sounded surprised, "No wonder I have been running into you often,"

Sasha arched a brow as she listened carefully.

Did he think that she is a jobless person?

Jefferson who picked up her quizzical expression, let out a chuckle before continuing,

"You rarely comes out of your house and delivery people were the only visitors you had so far, not to mention that I always wondered what kind of work you had?"

"I work for a publishing company," Sasha replied.

"That explains why you always prefer to stay indoors. You surely have a lot of reading to do,"

"Hmmm, kind of," Sasha fidgeted with the string of her bag while hesitating to continue the conversation.

"Huh...Mr Jefferson, I have a favour to ask,"

"Yes miss, anything,"

"I guess you have my contact number?" She paused and wait for his reply, "So next time when I have some visitors, other than deliverymen. Can you inform me before you let them in? Is that possible?"

"Is everything alright ma'am?" Jefferson looked at her with a worried look on his face.

"Yes, it's just I am not fond of surprise visits which interrupt my work,"

Is she real? Jefferson was at loss of words for a moment.

There are only a few residents in Crimson who actually know about the young lady who lives in the penthouse.

Though people prefer to keep their privacy, few curious souls made an effort to build a healthy relationship between the residents- especially the housewives and elders living in the crimson bay. However even they didn't know about Sasha.

Jefferson used to believe that Sasha may have her own friend circle and people to mingle with, but he never expected that as soon as a man came to visit her, she requested more tight security.

Did something happen during that man's visit? Is that why Sasha building another layer of wall around her?

"Is that possible?"

"Yes miss, I will talk to the security guards," Jefferson assured her.

"Thank you, have a nice day," Sasha slightly bowed and left the elevator, leaving a confused Jefferson all alone,

Of course, the building authority pays immense attention to the resident's safety. Since Sasha is a young woman who is living alone, they are obliged to take care of her.

Sasha Reagan was a mystery for everyone, but one thing which always made Jefferson curious was her surname.

Reagan family was all over in the media, anything and everything they do will be reported and spread through media like fire.

Though she always dresses up simple and casually, Sasha's mannerisms and her authoritative aura always indicated that she is not from an ordinary family.

But how come there aren't any news about someone named Sasha Reagan?

She said that she works in a publishing company. But which company allows an employee to work from home? Not to mention that she lives in a luxurious penthouse.

Something is strange with miss Reagan,

George Jefferson made a note in his mind as he walked towards the parking area.

Sasha took a cab to the city centre where she planned to meet Daniel before heading for the client's meeting.

"Oh, you look different," Daniel commented as soon as his eyes fell on the well-dressed woman who was walking towards his car.

"Thanks, shall we go now?"

"Yes, yes, get in," Daniel unlocked the car and let her in,

"I can see that you took a huge effort to impress our client, I appreciate your efforts. But why did you wear coloured lenses, today?"

"I don't like my eye colour," Sasha replied casually as she buckled the seat belt.

"Huh, why is that so? You have such a beautiful eye colour," He started the engine and started to drive, "Your amber eyes are one of your unique features.

"It is unique that's why I don't like it," Her answer was simple, "I prefer ordinary things,

"I haven't seen any ordinary person who wears glasses and contact lenses together," Daniel chortled,

"To look more formal,"

"God, you are crazy. I wonder how did your parents manage to look after you-" Daniel bit his tongue as he realised that he blurted out something unnecessary.

Though he doesn't know what exactly happened with Sasha and her parents, he was aware of the fact that his junior is not so close with her family.

"Oh I am sorry, I didn't mean to offend you,"

"It's alright. I have been thinking about them lately," Sasha brushed off his apologetic words.

"Is there anything wrong, Sasha? You didn't even go home and visited your family on Christmas?"

"They usually go for a trip during Christmas holidays,"

"You are from Sunny dale, right?" Daniel suddenly recalled,

"Hmm,"

"When I was in school, I have been there as part of the school trip. The greenery, fresh air, wine yards...I really liked that place,"

"It's one of the best tourist spots for city dwellers,"

"I wish I could take the twins to Sunny dale and let them experience the beauty and serenity of the countryside," Daniel tilted his head and tenderly smiled,

"Next time when you go home, inform us, we will also tag along,"

"I am not sure about me going there," Sasha nipped the idea of taking Daniel and his nephews to Sunny dale, "If you wish to visit Sunny dale, I can help you arrange your stay and other things,"

"Kids might like it if you go with them," Just like his nephews, Daniel was also want to get closer to Sasha, so he tried his best to persuade her.

However, since he failed to get a proper answer from her, Daniel swiftly changed his topic into official matters as he drove past to the buzzing city.

"This is where your client lives?" Sasha asked as Daniel stopped the car in front of a huge villa that spread over acres of land.
