CHAPTER 15 & 16

JERICHO, THE NEXT DAY**

Evelyn just entered her sisters room and rolled her eyes.

"She always oversleeps" she said as she rolled her eyes.

She then walked to the bed and carried the pillow and hit her.

"Hey!!!" She said as she woke up and put her hand on her head.

"What was that for?"

"A man came to see probably one of the suitors dad arranged for you!" She said as she rolled her eyes.

"What suitor, I'm not getting married?" She said.

"Dad said I should get you ready so get your a$$ off that bed and go to the bathroom while I pick you dress"

"Okay fine sis!" She said as she rolled her eyes and stood from the bed and made her way to the bathroom.

Evelyn then went to the wardrobe and started picking out her dress for the day.

After she was done showering, Karina dried her hair with a towel as she looked at the dress her sister placed neatly on her bed.

She then wore the dress and Evelyn helped her with the corset and then did her makeup before going to her hair.

Evelyn being the best princess hairstylist, prepared Karina's hair.

It was a messy braid with flowers all over the braid, her black hair reached her waist, and some strands falling on her face, she looked quite beautiful, and to add the finishing touch a tiara was gracefully put on top of her head.

"No my sister looks beautiful" she said as she pecked her sisters cheek.

"Come on let's go downstairs!" Karina said as she stood up from the dresser chair and opened her room door and started going downstairs, Evelyn trailed behind.

As soon as she descended from the stairs she saw a man discussing with her father he was on the couch.

All eyes turned to her and as soon as her gaze met his piercing gold orbs, she blushed.

"Rina, you look beautiful my dear!"

"Thanks dad!"

"Um please have a seat!" Her dad said as he pointed to a chair close to the Zamiel.

"This is Prince Zamiel of Havencrest!"

She smiled at him and he smiled back.

"He has come to ask for your hand in marriage!"

Her father looked at her, he had already made up his mind that she would object but shockingly she agreed.

"How about, you guys get to know each other!" He said as he stood and left giving the couple some privacy.

"Hey beautiful, are you trying to seduce me?" He asked and she bit her lips.

"Is it too much, I told Evelyn I didn't want to get attention!", she said with a pout.

"You look perfect, would you like it walk with me?" He asked as he stretched forth his hand and she put her hand on his palm and he kissed her hand raised her up, from her seat.

They then started walking to the garden.

"So how do I look?" He asked as he spread his arms so that she could get a better view of his body.

"You look more handsome in person" she said.

"Oh really!" He said as he came closer to her and her breath hitched.

"Come on Zamiel, were outside!"

"We are soon to be married so...."

"But!"

"No buts I've been waiting to do this" he said as he put his hands on her waist and brought her closer to him, their lips brushed with sent an electric wave to her brain.

He then kissed her on the spot.

ASTORIA**

Ruby and Xavier were together in the room resting, she was so tired from the day before where they had a very good time together.

She then turned to look at Xavier and saw that he wasn't looking that well, his eyes were red and had black eye bags under it, his body was burning.

"Xavier are you okay?" Ruby asked with worry lacing her voice.

"I don't Gem, I don't feel too good!"

"I'll call the local doctor!" She said standing up when he held her down and she looked at with her brows furrowed.

"Why did you do that?"

"If anyone in the kingdom find out that im a demon then it's over for me"

"I'm not in my normal state do health so killing me wouldn't be difficult" he added looking at her with pleading eyes.

"But how did you get so sick you were fine just yesterday?"

"I don't know but I think my sickness of before worsened."

"Oh dear what do we do?"

"Let's just stay together for a while" she then nodded and went to another side of the bed and started stroking her hair, his hand also gently massaging her scalp.

"Is it okay?" He asked.

"It's okay"

There was some few minutes of silence before Ruby finally spoke.

"Um well Yevon invited me to a party he is throwing"

"Who the f**k is Yevon?"

"He is one of my suitors, but now we've turned close friends"

"And I'm not aware of it?"

"Are you jealous?"

"I don't want any man to be with you or be your friend, I'm even scared of that Asher guy and now you are telling me that there is another guyz im sorry gem but you can't go to the party" he said caressing her face gently.

"Come on its just for tonight and you'll come with me"

"If I come with your maybe I'll feel more safer!" He said with uncertainty lacing his voice.

"Please"

She said looking at him cutely, he then rolled his eyes and said

"You're too cute you know"

"Yeah I know"

"Fine we will go tonight"

"Promise, sure!"

She then stood up from the bed and went outside the room to get a glass of water, she then saw Asher.

"Oh hi" she said shortly with a smile on her face.

"I just want to tell you not to go to that party, I have this bad feeling that something will happen"

"What do you mean something will happen?!, why are you guy just being paranoid, Yevon is my friend and he won't do anything to hurt me so chill!!!" She half yelled and he flinched a little and started walking away.

She went after him tugging his shirt,

"Asher I'm so sorry!"

He said nothing, he just kept walking.

"Please listen to me I didn't mean to yell at you I'm sorry"

He then turned back and looked at her their faces just inches away from each other he then breathed out

"Fine then, tell me you love me, that is when I'll be able to forgive you" he said with tears falling from his eyes.

"What do you mean love you?, I don't love you!" She said

His heart immediately shattered to pieces.

"You don't love me?" He asked his voice breaking after every word.

"I...." She couldn't continue.

"You what?" He asked as tears started falling from his eyes.

"I don't love you Ash, I'm in love with someone else"

"Who?"

"Xavier" she said and immediately, he let her go and walked away.

She looked at him her heart ached, why??she didn't know, she loved someone else but still felt some sort of connection with Asher.

She then sighed and made her way to the kitchen and got herself the glass of water and as she was about to go back to her room someone hugged her from behind.

She smiled immediately she inhaled his scent.

"Xavier"

"Why did you take so long?"

She then remembered the incident she had with Asher and her smiled faded a little.

"Um nothing, on my way here I met Yvonne and we talked and we then got so engrossed on the talk before I left and came to get what I wanted.

He knew she was lying, but he couldn't bring himself to hear the truth.

"Okay come let's go back to bed I miss you already!"

She then nodded and followed him in the direction of their room and went to rest until evening.

HAVENCREST, THE EVENING**

Yevon looked around the ball room, checking every nook and cranny hoping that everything would be spotless because this tonight's party is gonna be for my best friend.

He smiled at that thought.

"Are you done with the cake?" He asked the baker

"Almost done sir!"

"Finish soon I'm expecting a guest"

The baker smiled at him and continued what she was doing.

"How long will you take Ruby?"

"Almost done!"

Xavier was waiting for Ruby in downstairs as he continuously check the wall clock as he paced to and fro.

Xavier wore a sleek black tuxedo that seemed to be tailored specifically for his chiseled physique.

The jacket was fitted, accentuating his broad shoulders and chest, while the trousers were perfectly creased, breaking just above his polished black dress shoes.

A crisp white dress shirt complemented the ensemble, its collar framing his strong jawline and piercing eyes. A black bow tie added a touch of sophistication, its subtle sheen hinting at the luxurious fabric.

As Xavier moved, the tuxedo seemed to shimmer in the light, emphasizing his dark hair and bronzed skin. The overall effect was one of effortless elegance, as if Xavier had been born to wear a tuxedo.

The black tuxedo was a perfect reflection of Xavier's mysterious and refined character, making him look like a debonair prince of the night.

His long black hair was slicked back and his plum pink lips looking as kissable as ever. He was breathtaking.

"I'm done sorry for keeping you waiting!"

Ruby said as she descended from the stairs in a beautiful dress.

Ruby's black evening dress was a stunning, floor-length gown that hugged her curves in all the right places.

The sleek, silk fabric seemed to shimmer in the light, highlighting her porcelain skin and brown hair.

The dress featured a subtle sweetheart neckline, framing her heart-shaped face and emphasizing her bright green eyes.

The fitted bodice showcased her tiny waist, while the flowing skirt fell in soft folds around her feet, like a dark cloud. A delicate silver belt cinched at her waist added a touch of glamour, its subtle sparkle echoing the stars in the night sky.

As Ruby moved, the dress seemed to flow like liquid night, its darkness offset by the radiant glow of her skin and the fiery splendor of her hair.

The black evening dress was a perfect reflection of Ruby's mysterious and alluring character, making her look like a goddess of the night.

Xavier's jaw dropped.

"You look ethereal"

"Thanks you look good yourself" she said as she went to him and planted a soft kiss on his lips.

"Shall we" he said as he stretched his hands and she placed her hand gently on his palm and he walked her to their already prepared carriage.

They then went to Havencrest, it wasn't that far from Astoria so it wasn't a long journey.

As soon as they arrived, Xavier came out of the carriage and walked to his wife's side to open the door after smiling at the young ladies outside the door.

👥"He is so hot!!!!!!"

👥"Does he have a wife, cause I'll marry him and make it two"

Then he opened the door and Ruby stepped down from it and the murmurs increased, men's mouths watered from the sight before then.

👥"She is soooo beautiful!!"

👥"I love her hair!!!"

👥"Look at those mesmerizing green eyes"

👥"They are such a cute couple"

👥"Cuteness overload!!"

They all said as they gushed over the cute couple, due to the murmurs, Yevon can out and saw the chase if the murmurs and smiled at Ruby.

"Ruby!" He called as he walked to her and hugged her tight, Xavier's jaw clenched.

"I've missed you so much!"

"I've missed you too best friend"

"Come in"

"This is my husband Xavier!" She said as she introduced him, the two men exchanged hard glances at each other.

Before Xavier said

"Hi!"

"Hi!" He said shortly then he smiled at Ruby and said

"Go in while I handle the guests outside"

"Okay" she said as held Xavier's hand and they walked inside, they then took their seats among the others and waited the party.

After a few minutes, the party began at full swing and everyone was having a blast, Xavier then stood up for his seat because he was getting tired of the ladies smiling at him.

"Baby I'm going out for some fresh air"

"Oh sure!" She said as she continued watching the dancers move their bodies to the beats if the music, after a while she felt pressed and stood up going to ask the guard for directions.

"Oh hi, um can you show me the direction of the restroom"

"Sure!" He said as he showed her the direction of the restroom and left.

Xavier was now outside as he looked at the bright starry sky, it calmed him, it was like as though he was communicating with his mum again.

"Hello, Xavier"

Xavier turned back and saw Yevon.

"What in the world are you doing here?"

"It's my palace why can't I be here?"

Xavier then scoffed and made his way to leave and then Yevon held his hand and said

"Better give up on Ruby cause she is mine!"

Xavier immediately punched him, and made his way inside.

Yevon smirked.

Ruby was done using the restroom, she then walked out of the bathroom and washed her hands, and went out of the bathroom and as soon as she came out she felt a black bag over her head and everything turned black.

Xavier ran into the ball....

"Where is my RUBY????" He asked.
